Likes: TENNIS BALLS. Toys. Treats. Dog Park. Beach. Agility. Playing with Chase. Fun.
Pet-Peeves: Being woken up from a nap. Not getting something right in Agility - because he's faster than I am! He barks to show his frustration when we mess up! He also will bite at my legs like a freshie when I'm not directing him correctly.
Favorite Toy: Tennis balls, chew toys, stuffed toys, squeeky toys, and basically anything.
Favorite Food: Natura's EVO dry food (with other high quality dog foods), high quality brand canned foods, and healthy fresh food add-ins. Remington LOVES chicken!
Favorite Walk: Dog park, trails, the beach, walking around town, to Chase's house, to his grandpa's house, and basically anything, anywhere, anytime.
Best Tricks: Agility. He also knows: Sit, Stay, Drop it, Leave it, Down, Heel, Side, Spin, Reverse, BANG! - Play dead, Back, Speak, Paw, Shake, Through, Under, and Touch. Adding new ones all the time!
Arrival Story: Remington came from Oaklahoma - he is an ACD/ASTCD mix. His mother had stumpy in her from generations back. He was SO cute when I saw his little cattle dog body in his crate off the plane. I felt bad that he had to travel in a plane, but he arrived safe and sound. I love Remington - he is my soul mate =)
Bio: Remington is a great dog, and I absolutely love Australian Cattle Dogs. I call Rem my Little Velcro Boy because he follows me everywhere. When I leave a room, he follows - if he was sleeping, he wakes right up and comes along. He's an ACD - Velcro is his middle name! He is being trained in Agility and is doing very well. We're learning a lot and he is getting really good! We've been training since March of 2007, and we had our first agility trial at the end of June 2009! Remington did fantastic. We got 7 ribbons! He learns things so quickly - especially fun little tricks! Rem is full of energy and loves to do anything and everything. I couldn't ask for a better dog. He is great off the leash, at the beach, at the dog park, hiking, camping, everything. He cannot get enough of the chuck-it and the tennis ball, he absolutely loves it. It is his job, and he takes it seriously, but still has great fun. He loves toys, bones, food, etc. He loves swimming and if he see's water, he's there. I love to try and tire him out. We're part of a bunch of doggie meet-up groups to get Remington out there with some dogs to play and exercise - and for my own benefit, to talk with people who share my interests. We never pass up the oppertunity to do or talk all things dog! We highgly reccomend everyone find a doggie meet-up group in their own area, it's such a good idea!

My best bud Chase: Rem says: "Chase is my best bud. We love to play together and just hang out. I have much more energy than him and can outlast him any day! I go over his house all the time and go lots of places with him. We go to the dog park together, the doggie stores, and all sorts of stuff. He's a good boy - sometimes! He likes to run away from his house and come to mine - I guess I'm just a cool guy to come see! Well anyways, he's my best bud!"
My Cattle Dog Friend Bella!: Rem says: "Bella is my Cattle Dog friend. I love her to bits and pieces! She's so cute like me! We talk all the time about all kinds of things. About toys and things we like to do. About what we did throughout the day, or what our plans are! We talk Cattle Dog all the time, and I love it! She's a cutie pie and we look a lot alike!"
My meet-up at Dog Beach today was AWESOME!! At first, I had no idea what to do because Mom didn't bring a ball for me. She said she wanted me to play with all the other dogs. So okay we went to the doggie beach, and there ended up being like 15 dogs!! I PLAYED WITH SO MANY OF THEM! I made them chase me, and then I chased them, and I did zoomies, and fetched sticks in the water, and played tug with a stick with another doggie there (which Mom was proud of me for trying to share bol). We were there for about 2 hours. I met so many dogs, and Mom was so happy that I played like crazy - not the way I play with Chase, but was running around and frolicking merrily. Then we took a short walk and Mom told me how good of a boy I was. THEN a few hours later, after we all took a nap, Mom took me to the beach with Chase and my grandma's shih tzu Rascal (we're still dog sitting him). It was low tide and I got so filthy. I was covered in muddy squishy sand from head to toe. I smelled delcious too! Mom didn't think so though.. I was zooming around, chasing Chase, splashing in water, and fetching my tennis ball once Mom brought it out for me! Then we came home again, relaxed for a second, and Mom gave me a bath. It was miserable. But then she made it up to me by taking me for a 20 minute walk. I was happy, and now I am going to take a snooze while Mom reads for school.
So all in all, I had a great day. I was going-going-going! So now I am content!!
TODAY: While Mom was at work I hung out with dad - just snoozing away.. Then Mom came home and we went for a 30 minute drive, went to the doggie store (where I got a a pigs ear and Mom got my food), went to the beach and played fetch, took a water break, and took a mile or more walk. I saw a baby Merle Collie (absolutely beautiful, not common around here), a 5 month old German Shepherd (beautiful as well, and an owner actually training it haha - we have a lot of untrained dogs here: especially labs, goldens, and shepherds - Mom says), and a 10 month old American Eskimo. I said hi to them with my Cattle Dog stare as I walked by. Then I came home and had my dinner: tonight it was my kibble with scoops of cottage cheese - yum!
Tomorrow, at 10am, we have a doggie meet-up scheduled at a local doggie beach - and I'm SO excited. Mom is too. She can't wait to talk to other dog people - and for me to play, splash in water, and fetch my tennis ball. Tomorrow is going to be a great day!
Good news and a good day! We played ball for an hour and 20 minutes this morning so that I would be relaxed when..
You know how I told you my mom LOVES to take pictures of me right? Well, today my mom went to get her Senior Pictures done - and SHE BROUGHT ME! We got pictures taken together! Mom says they looked so good, and that I was such a good-good-good-good-good (well, you get the picture) boy. The picture taker woman even said that I surprised her and was such a good boy - that she never see's dogs that well behaved. Mom took a bunch of pictures on her own, and then pictures with me! I got treats too. Mom says I am very responsive to weird sounds, so she told the photo lady to make weird sounds to make me look at her. And she did .. she sounded like a dieing duck or something, and obviously I looked at her, who wouldn't? And mom says the pictures will be sent to us in two weeks, and then we can get prints of them and put some on dogster - I'm excited to see them. I'm such a cute guy, who could resist? It's totally a cattle dog thing. Mom loves me! And I love her! She gave me a big treat as soon as we got home. Now I'm off to lay down for a nap.
