Arrival Story:
I saw Shiloh listed on the internet as an adoptee available from a no kill rescue group. I fell in love with him through his description and went to meet him. The description from the rescue group read in part, as follows: "Shiloh, Shiloh, Shiloh, where do I start? We rescued him about a year ago (early 2001) from an abusive home. He is obedience trained, likes cats and plays well with other dogs. He overcame his fears of being beaten and is a very smart, eager to please, beautiful coated German Shepherd." Shortly after meeting Shiloh, I returned to adopt him and he came home to be a part of our family on January 1, 2002. Once he settled into the family, my guide dog Gypsy and I began training him to become her successor, as she was going to be needing to retire from full-time guide work. He learned very quickly and loved the work then and still does today. Gypsy was very pleased with him and was willing to turn the guide work over to him.

Bio:
Here is biographical information from Shilo's point of view. "You were an Angel sent from above! ... You taught me to trust, and again how to love! You gave me the opportunity to continue to live. You shared your home with me and showed it was ok to give! I had the time to stay and wait for that special someone to come for me! When they did, you told them all you knew and to give me a chance you did agree! Because of what you did for me, the time you took, the love you shared; To go on my way to a new family and lead a full life, I was prepared! I have a loving family, a cat, and playmates of my own kind. I have lots of nifty things to do to occupy my mind! I have a large extended family with other fur friends, too. There are many kids I claim as my own! My kids are neat, and there's lots to do! I'm a loving companion, but I'm also a guide! This is a very important duty in which I take much pride! I was unwanted, by someone, somewhere. Thank you for being special people who care! Shiloh"
