Arrival Story: Do you ever get the feeling that some things are just meant to be? :)
I found Dancer in a little rundown pound. She was just a puppy then, curled up in a corner on the cold, concrete floor with a squeaky toy. Her big, frightened brown eyes watched from beneath soft, white fur, and when I approached her, she stood up on her hind legs, placing her paws on the cage door. Needless to say, it was love at first site. I took her and her 'baby' (the little squeaky toy) home that night. The rest is history.
Bio: Dances is a typical Eskie in every way and has that gorgeous Eskie smile. I think my warmest memories of her will always return to the hours spent looking out of windows. Ever since she was very small, that was where she most wanted to be, and those are the moments that stay in my heart... the days when it was just us and the falling rain, lost in our thoughts, the rain reflected in her eyes...
My name is Dances With Snow and I am a miniature Eskie. My mom found me at the pound when I was small. All I had for comfort there in that big, cold concrete cell was a little squeaky toy from my previous home. I was so scared and confused. No one wanted me because I was so hyper and nervous. My mom fell in love with me, though. She thought I was the perfect dog to bring home to be sisters with Snowflake (another little white dog who had just lost her best friend to cancer). Well, I was the perfect fit, and with lots of love and structure, I became calm. I also became my mom's soulmate. She says she's never seen a more beautiful or wise dog. I love to sit by windows and watch the seasons change. At night, I love to just stare at my mom when she is sleeping. I love my babies...mom bought me lots of squeaky toys...I tuck them in at night; I groom them; and I even try to feed them. Every night, I get a Nilla Wafer, and that's my most favorite treat. My mom says she sees the wolf in me. I sense storms before they come. I love to listen to the trains go by. Mom says I'm beautiful. Recently, we moved from the Deep South to the Southwest. I miss my favorite window, gently falling rain, walks in the park, and all of my friends. Now, I have a whole new world to explore...it's so different, but mom says she will never leave me. She will love me forever. And that's all I need to know.
