Sadly, I am no longer with my original owners. I became the middle of a custody battle between an evil New Jersey breeder named Phyllis and my loving family. Phyllis sent me to my new home without telling them I was blind in one eye, so when my new family (Mama Bex and Papa Kal) took me to the ophthalmologist the day after they got me and learned I was blind in one eye they were very upset. They called Phyllis that day and she said that she would arrange to give my new parents a healthier pup in exchange for me (I was also the runt and weighed 1/3 as much as my sisters--2.3 pounds at 13 weeks old!). Bex and Kal were beside themselves but decided it was the best decision. Well, nasty old Phyllis said she didn't want me back, so I got to go home with my big sister and stay in my new home! That is, until two months later when mom and dad got a phone call--the evil breeder had found someone to pay full price for me and wanted me back immediately. Kal and Bex were so attached to me, and I to them and my sis, that they did everything they could to get evil Phyllis to leave us alone. She wanted to prove she was meaner, though, and showed up in our hallway with a group of four large, scary people while we were out of town one weekend. She told all our neighbors my mom and dad were criminals, hired a fancy lawyer that my mom and dad couldn't afford, had one of her friends at the police station call and threaten us (which we got him in trouble for later), and left lots of threatening voicemails about having us evicted from our apartment, calling my grandparents, doing everything she could to get my mom and dad fired from their jobs, and more. Well, talk about nasty debt collectors. Mom and dad just wanted to take care of me and love me and keep me with my sister. In the end, mom and dad didn't have the money to fight her in court and were forced to give me back. She wouldn't even reimburse them for the $500 they had spent on my medical bills (ophthalmologists ain't cheap!), not to mention any other costs. They dropped me off to some man who had adopted another one of my sisters, and the whole thing was really scary and confusing. Mom started crying even though she tried not to. Now they don't know where I live or how I'm doing, and I know they really, really miss me. I miss them and my sister Loretta so much.
