Arrival Story:
After my beloved puppy, (91 lbs.), Buddy, died of complications due to the pet food recall, I was devastated. I kept saying I did not want another dog, but after seeing Max's sweet face on our local SPCA's website, I had to see him. I made an appointment to meet him and fell in love. He had been abused but was so wanting attention; very hyper. His coat was so dull, he was so skinny, his teeth was covered with plaque buildup, but he had the sweetest eyes. I had to take him home.
Bio:
Max was so scared of EVERYTHING; water, loud noises, his tags hitting his dog dish, sticks, the lawnmower (both push and rider), even when they aren't running!!! Bless his heart, he did not even know how to play. He would just look at me, like Duhhh. After 4 months of having a home, he has just blossomed. He likes water, he plays with his toys, his coat is so shiny, his teeth are so white, and he's gained 12 lbs. He's such a blessing to us and is so loved.
