Arrival Story:
In early 2001, we decided it was time to add another furry friend to the family after sadly having to put our beloved family dog to sleep a few months prior. We did research online and contacted various breed organizations. As we learned more and more about porties, we realized that it would be the perfect breed for us: smart, fun, energetic...Barney is all of those things and more!!! He's been a bundle of joy since the day we picked him up. Plus, it's great that he doesn't shed! We love this breed!

Bio:
Barney is a very sweet and loving boy who absolutely loves playing and hanging out with his humans. He wasn't sure about the water at first, but now he's a bonafide water dog and swims at any chance he gets (which can be a problem sometimes since he lives on a lake!). Barney's energy is endless; he's always up for a game of catch. He loves entertaining his friends with his sense of humor and almost always carries a toy around with him. He knows all of his toys (20+) by name and will retrieve them when asked. He's very soft and cuddly and loves to give hugs and lay on pillows. He enjoys going to school and work with his parents and meeting new friends! We've never had a more intelligent dog...we are convinced he could drive a car if he only had opposable thumbs!! (well, maybe not, but he's still a very smart boy!) Barney just got back from a wonderful vacation where traveled over 7,500 miles and saw all kinds of sights, like Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Mt. St. Helens, the Grand Tetons, Palm Desert, San Diego, San Francisco, Route 66 and much more! He became quite the camper and enjoyed being a "wilderness dog" for a couple weeks. He's looking forward to future travels and can't wait to get back out on the road again!
