Arrival Story:
Shortly after bringing her brother "Pisces" home from a pet shop, we received a phone call from a breeder we had contacted a few weeks before. A puppy had become available for us if we were still interested. Well, we figured that they're such tiny dogs...and, Pisces would love some company, so we decided to take her! She was flown in from Calgary for us. And boy was she tiny!!! Almost too tiny...

Puma was so tiny, frail, dehydrated, hypothermic, and hypoglycemic when we received her...thank God a friend of ours was a vet and was able to nurse her back to health. She was such a pretty little girl when we got her but she remained quite sick for about a month. After many trips and overnights at the vet's and the scariest day of our lives when Puma had a seizure on us and almost died, we decided to give her back to the breeder. We were soooo sad. But, before we sent her back to Calgary, we had to have our vet nurse her back to health. After a 2 week stay at the vet's, and many health updates, Puma was getting better!!! Our vet convinced us to keep her...she was so precious, how could we send her back??? When Puma came home, she came home to her brother Pisces and her new brother "Fraggle Rock" (see Fraggle's page for his story). Puma is now a very healthy, beautiful little lady. She weighs in at about 4 pounds. She may be small, but she sure is tough. She likes to beat up her brothers on a daily basis! She makes us so very happy.
