Arrival Story:
MooShu is gone. She died this afternoon peacefully outside, on top a hill, under a tree overlooking a pond. It was a beautiful day for her to leave this earth. She sniffed the fresh breeze and held her head in the sunshine. She had stopped eating 8 days ago with the exception of a few bites here and there of her favorite foods. She lived a great life. MooShu endured a lot of pain through the years, much more than any animal should have to stand. Thank God we had each other. I made the very difficult decision to let her go today after getting back test results revealing that less than 5% of her kidneys were functioning and that there would be few good days ahead, if any, that didn't involve pain, hunger, thirst and discomfort. She fought the good fight for many years. This disease was genetic, from birth, and I managed to control it for 9 good years. I made a promise to myself many years ago that I would never let her suffer, that I would do right by her when the time came. The time has been coming and although I'll never know how may days she could have held on, I know she didn't suffer and she only knew love. Ming is not taking this well so far. I'm going to take this as my new personal challenge to make her feel 10 feet tall and on top of the world. Every animal deserves to feel safety and love. So I think I've done my job. Thank you everyone for all your kindness and support. Every single text, email, phone call and FB post has made this a little bit more bearable.
