A Day in the Life of Honey

spring 2006

We went for a nice long walk on a gorgeous day in the midwest today. The key word is "long"...I purchased the "gentle leader" and it`s changed our lives!
Honey continues to be the perfect dog. We are thinking she needs a canine companion. We must be crazy...or just dog lovers.

That`s what Honey is...can you see it in her face? She lives to please us. The goldens are a great breed, of course if you own one you already know that. Sadly I`ve been told there are quite a few in need of adoption. I wish more people would be fair to themselves and the animal and research a breed before they buy.
Honey doesn`t care for this heat.... we are going to get her a kiddie pool soon.

Spring is here!

Finally great weather..for awhile anyway. Honey went thru obedience. I found pros and cons to the "koehler method" Please research this method before attending! Specifically the discipline corrections, which I find barbaric and abusive. We will not be using them and most people have heard my rant so I wont do it here. We let Honey off-leash yesterday, it was nice to see her run and enjoy the large yard we have. She seems like the type of dog that would stay near us most of the time but we are taking it slow.
She really has improved with the kids and their friends ie. tugging at their clothes...such a great breed.
Next we join the dogpark and maybe some agilty classes.
