Arrival Story:
My best friend and I bought Zoe from a lady in a nearby town who was needing to find a new home for her because she was moving. It very quickly came to our attention that Zoe had been abused and was very much under weight. It took a lot of love and time to bring Zoe out of her shell, but she is now a very loving girl who thrives on attention, weighs a little more than she should (we are working on that with extra exercise time), but a little girl that will still wear her feelings on her shoulders when something prompts bad memories. That normally happens when she smells something burnings or if we are cooking and there is a smell of smoke coming from it. We know her previous owners were smokers and we do not know if it reminds her of them or if she was burned in some way before coming to us. But she would go and hide in a corner and just shake like she was afraid for her life. Though she is still slightly affected by the smells she has learned that we will protect her now and she doesn't have to hide. She has the most loving, appreciative eyes. And she so loves giving kisses. We are so lucky to have Zoe in our lives, and she shows her appreciation to us each day in the love she gives us.
Bio:
Zoe is still very shy and stand offish around anyone who comes into the house. She begs to be held when strangers are around. It is like she is begging us not to let anyone take her away. AND WE WOULDN'T !!!!
