Arrival Story:
We were looking to add one more after we lost our first Vizsla and Rubee had a lot of the same bloodlines as our first Vizsla. There were only two pups left to pick from and we picked her because when she did the wing on a string test she immediately went into a point and all else ceased to exist except that wing

Rubee is obsessed with birds! Loves to watch them, point them and hunt them. But out of the field she's a crazy comical loving dog.

Poor Mom.
In my haste to exit the recliner while she was sitting with me I accidentally banged my knee into her eyebrow and now she's sporting a beauty of a "shiner". Why I decided to go over her shoulder instead of off the foot of the recliner I don't know. It seemed like the logical thing to do at the time. She's forgiven me. She knows I didn't do it on purpose. I guess she'll have to be more careful next time...because she knows better than to count on me to remember! :)

Nobody told me

Bird hunting season may be over but nobody told me. When Mom and Dad weren't looking the second young robin this week fell prey to me. I am always pointing and stalking them. Usually they fly away. I caught one this past weekend by hiding under the picnic table and when the young one came to drink at my water bowl on the deck I ambushed it. The one today made the mistake of taking its first flight into my yard. I know that Mom feels bad for these little ones (she's a bird lover). I love them too...just in a different way. I can't help what I am.

I'm a bird dog.

Common Sense for the other end of the leash

Mom and I have been taking a lot of walks lately and we've run into some folks who could use the following tips.

1) If you walk with a retractable leash and your dog is not well behaved and aggressively charges another dog its passing...DO NOT release the lock after you pass the dog...your dog can circle back for another shot at the dog it just passed, spinning you like a top.

2) If you own a 90+ pound powerful dog that is not well mannered on a leash....DO NOT take it out on will yank you off your feet, drag you and send you into the bushes rip that leash out of your hand and then after my mom scolds your dog, she will soundly scold you as well for being so stupid!
