So, I'm a great dog but when I get on a scent, I just can't stop chasing it...well, I won't stop chasing it, anyway. But, problem is that means I always have to be on leash when we leave our property. Recently, however, they put this thing on my neck which vibrates when they call my name, and stops when I turn to run to them. It surprises me every time, which pisses me off. I say to myself everytime we go out, I know that thing is on me and I wo0n't be surprised but then that little buzz happens and I immediately turn to look at my "owners" and once I look at them, I can't say no, and I run to them. It's so wimpy! Thing doesn't even hurt, yet, there I am turning and going back. I'll take the stigma of being a weak-kneed foxhound because now I can run free all over the place! It's the best, best, best. I meet other dogs and without that leash on, I am fine with them coming up to me and saying hi...as long as they do it politely...and maybe one day, MAYBE, I'll play with one of them. Might have to. Molly is a little gimpy nowadays so I can play rough with her anymore. She still wants to but they keep us from getting too crazy and smashing through the woods, getting torn up by thorns and slamming each other to the ground. Ah, those were good times.

Something's happened recently. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Molly, who used to loath being up on the couch - they'd call her up and she'd just sit there, frozen, like they were about to torture her -- suddenly has turned into a hug-loving, owner-snuggling couch-hog! Everytime I turn my back, or even if I don't, she's up there. Yeah, I can knock her off, and yeah, if I just give her the "stare" she'll back right off but for some reason, I guess I'm not feeling it. Not feeling the need to kick her presumptuous butt!

I was just at my boarder's house. They are cool and the dogs they have are also cool, although they can be noisy and disturb my much loved naps! So, I go up to the office and lie down there where it's quieter. How much do I need the quiet? Well, to lie down in the office, I have to sleep with one of their cats! Frankly, though I'd never tell my breathren dogs, that cat is very nice to snuggle with. If it were Molly, she'd kill it, as she has tried to do ocassionally. Cat is too smart for her, though, lol.
Anyway, even though I love it at Nicole and Joseph's, it was kinda nice to head back home where Molly and I could just sprint for acres. My "owners" have a lot of fencing so I don't get to chase deer (unless I escape!!!) but I do get to play with Molly, and sometimes tumble the crap out of her. I know, it's not nice but she's such a good target.
