Birthday: May 22nd 2002 Likes: Skye is still learning what it means to just be a dog. Pet-Peeves: Doesn't like anyone coming between him and his people Favorite Toy: Skye had discovered playing with toys. he loves his Wubba Favorite Food: He just discovered Pizza but he eats his kibble mostly Best Tricks: He has learned to sit on command, and will always raise his paw for a shake. Arrival Story: Skye was one of the breeding males at the breeder where we got Maximus. We fell in love with him when we were picking up Max as a puppy. We told the breeder if he ever needed to find a home for him to call us. Well he called a couple of weeks ago and since Skye was not productive as a breeding male he needed to make room for a new stud. We went and picked Skye up on August 19, 2007. It is a 4 hour drive each way from our house. Skye had never ridden in a car before but he was the best behaved dog all the way home. He is learning many new things every day now. This morning he learned about Peanut Butter. He was not sure at first and shyed away but as soon as he got a taste for it, he thought it was pretty good. We will be getting him trimmed and cleaned up in the next few days and more pictures then. Today Max and I did something bad. Mom left the gate ajar for jus a little bit, and we found it, so we went "Walkabout". Max won't listen to dad or mom callin when he is adventureing. So I followed him. Mom and Dad found we were missing about 10 mintues after we left, and started looking. We live on a canyon and we like to explore it a lot, so dad walked down the bottom all the way up the draw. No Max or Skye. Mom drove around to the top of the hill but didn't see us either. They looked and looked for bout an hour when mom went back home and there was a message on the machine. A lady found us over 2 miles from home... She called cux we carry our phone numbers on our tags. Well before dad could get there we left again. this time we split up. Max took off before me, and I was trying to find my way back toward home. Dad drove around more and more then the nice lady called back. She had herd a dog in trouble, and found Max floating down the canal behind her house. He was trying to get out, but the sides were concrete. The nice lady drug Max out of the canal and chained him to a tree and called dad again. Well dad came right over and dere he was. Meanwhile I was wif a nice couple jus a couple of blocks away. Dey called while dad was getting Max so he jumped in da car and came and gots me too. We are bof home now and very tired. This happended this morning so dad and mom did not get to leave for da boat. Max is very sore from his adventure in the canal. We are lucky nice people helped us, and let dis be a lesson to all you pups out dere. Carry yer phone number wif you at all times. We are chipped too.
Wow I've been here a week already. Time sure is flying and I'm having fun. There is so much to learn. New smells, sounds, tastes, it's a big world out there. Mom and Dad say I am doing really good. I love my brothers, I've been to the vet and she said I was looking good, I got a haircut, (Dad will get pictures soon) and I feel so much better now I am even starting to PLAY. I can run with Maximus all around our 3 acres. I play with the little dogs real nice, Dad says I walk better on leash than Max does. Ha Ha Max. I climb in and out of the car like a pro now. I'm thinking I like this family dog kind of thing. Oh yea I did get in some trouble for "marking" but it's all my stuff now right. And mom doesn't like me checking out the table at dinner time.
