Quick Bio:
-pound dog-dog rescue

Likes:
She was a sweetheart! She always pushed my hand with her nose "play with me!" & she loved to play ball!

Arrival Story:
-as told by my family : In Michigan, I worked at Ottawa Shores Humane Society. This dog arrived as a stray --she was at least 10 years old. At first sight, I just had to rescue her! 10/5/2000 - she went home with us. We named her "Ms. Bacall" because Bogart and Sam were already part of our family {Humphrey Bogart, of course, and Sam the piano player in the movie "Casablanca"}.

Bio:
We just loved Ms.Bacall! We walked in the snow, played ball alot, & took care of her medical issues. Before we adopted her, the humane society treated her for kennel cough. A month later, her cough came back. Our veterinarian treated Ms.Bacall for kennel cough also. By spring, she was coughing again and we did x-rays. She had Congestive Heart Failure -- so we started medication. Ms.Bacall fought a brave fight. But CHF was too much-- when your heart doesn't work right, you have trouble breathing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5/5/2001 - Ms.Bacall passed to Rainbow Bridge while on our way to the veterinarian. And our hearts were broken.

- one of our favorite stories -

"On the first day of creation, God created the dog.
On the second day, God created man to serve the dog.
On the third day, God created all the animals of the Earth to serve as potential food for the dog.
On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.
On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.
On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.
On the seventh day, God tried to rest, but He had to walk the dog."
