Arrival Story:
We purchased Maggie from a breeder we had dealt with before. We have three altogether. We arrived looking for a yellow and came home with yet another black lab. We took our then 3 year old lab Raison with us and when we put Maggie in the back seat with Raison, raison climbed over the back of the seat and onto my lap to get away from the little demon. Raison's opinion has not changed a whole bunch...
Bio:
Maggie is the most talkative lab we have ever owned and we have had 5 in the last 20 years. She responds to everything you say with a moan or a groan or a yip. She is also the most clever and creative about how to steal, bowls, food, toys, etc. She can lift a bowl from a deep sink full of what she thinks is food traces and never spill a bit. She is also the first dog we have had that seems to have a REALLY LARGE vocabulary. There are more words that illicit a direct response from her in actions than any other dog we have had.
For example we often have to clean her ears. We use to say we are going to clean your ears until she figured out what that meant and started to hide, so I started saying, maybe we should do something about stinky... now if you say the word stinky she hides. She also has responses to 'Who did this' she goes and hides.. and if I say to my husband .. " Look at this" she runs and hides.. guess she was trained that if I said that it was usually something she had done!
She cracks me up.. and makes me crazy all at once.
