Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Gotcha Date:
December 15th 2003

Likes:
To tell you her secrets (getting as CLOSE as she can to your face, neck and ears and sniffing/nibbling/talking), doing drive-bys (strolling past you and passing gas), sunbathing, and barking at cats, squirrels and birds

Pet-Peeves:
Neighborhood cats taunting her, getting her nails trimmed, getting bathed, getting squirted with water when she howls (in the middle of the night!)

Favorite Toy:
stuffed polar bear

Favorite Food:
UPDATE: We have finally gotten Lu off of frogs! In addition to people food and anything that falls from the highchair, she especially likes cheese, pigs ears and black olives.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere she can strut her stuff! This girl would LOVE to be a supermodel-she loves to strike a pose!

Best Tricks:
Except for her Elvis impression, Lu has no real tricks to speak of, however, she tolerates everything our toddler does to her and I think that's a pretty good trick in itself!

Arrival Story:
We rescued Lula in December of 2003 after a Bluetick Coonhound breeding farm dumped her out of a moving car b/c she was too small to hunt (the runt). A passer by saw the whole thing and took her to a vet hospital/shelter. I had been looking for another hound to adopt, and I found her while searching the internet one night. We went the next day to meet her and we took her home about an hour later. It was truly love at first sight. I couldn't even imagine her living anywhere else but with us. She had some healing to do from the road rash she got when she was thrown from the vehicle and she was extremely underweight and very scared. Since then, her injuries have healed, she went from 25 lbs to 48 lbs and is no longer afraid of people. More than anything, she LOVES people! If she can't give kisses to someone, she will let you know by barking at you until you let her love on you! I'm so glad we found her and are able to give her the home she deserves!

Bio:
Lula USED to have lots of energy, but our sweet girl is getting a little older and tends to be on the lazy side most days. She still has a VERY loud mouth. She loves to hear herself talk/howl, she loves attention, but she HATES water! She has selective hearing loss, something I'm sure is a hound thing! She's a sweet, sweet girl, very loving and can produce the saddest eyes you have EVER seen when she wants something! She definitely has a "mothering" sense, as the minute we brought our first baby home from the hospital, her instincts kicked in and she never left our baby's side. She still watches over both our kids like a mama. She's a great dog!
