It rained a LOT today...

We started the day out with a ton of rain, that nice, slow, soaking rain that just doesn't quit. Finally, around 1, the rain stopped, and the sun came out for a few brief moments before going back behind the clouds. No more rain, but it is kind of steamy--hot and muggy--here. Tomorrow Myriam goes to Michigan's Adventure, an amusement park with a few rides, plus the water park where she can swim as long as she wants. She is going with church kids her age group. They will be gone for 12 hours, so I will be able to finish thinning out her closet and dresser to get ready for the school year. I can't believe that summer is almost over already! It went by just too dang fast! I am eager to get into a routine though so that by the time school starts she will be on a good schedule for waking, school, and sleeping. Hope ya'lls days are still fun for the summer!

Whew, this week has been a BIG week of learning new commands and ways to help my mom. There are a lot of the prison tails staff that aren't here right now, cuz they are on vacation. But, my mom said she will be sending me something from them so I can know their scent when we meet. I can't wait to see what it is going to be.

Next week I am getting measured, weighed, etc., so my mom can order my vest and patches. She already has been pouring over different sites and seeing which ones she likes the best, and is going to buy it sometime the beginning of September. Then she and my human sister, Myriam, are going to come down here to see me graduate and take me home with them. I'm kind of homesick already, since I know about her. I can't wait to jump into her arms and lick her face. And lick my sister's face too!

I know right now my mom isn't feeling too well. She seems to be hurting in her back and legs and arms, because right now Medicaid is messed up and isn't allowing mom to have her pills. Hopefully she can get them soon so she doesn't get too much pain. If you pray, just ask that God will give her some relief. Thanks.

Today is my second day here, and I am learning lots! There's so many things to do, so many pups to play with, and good times to laze around in the sun. I am still in prison, but, my mom is coming to get me when September 21 rolls around, cuz that is my graduation day! I'm so excited I can't keep my tail still!

Mom is going to send me something with her scent, with my sister's scent, and with the cat's scent on it. Then, when she comes, I will know her just by her smell.

My sister is 11, going on 12, and she goes back to school after Labor Day. I will be sad then, cuz I will have been with her for a day on the ride back up to Michigan. But it's ok, because mom will be around, and we will be going places, and doing things, to get me settled into apartment living.

Mom is glad that I am already so far into my training. She is getting me a cool vest that is going to be green, and say Service Dog on it, and there is a D-ring (whatever that means) on the vest so my ID card can clip onto it, and there are two pockets for mom's keys and anything else she may need.

Well, I gotta run. Mom won't be happy if she finds me laying around without doing something constructive! BOL!!!
