New diary, new post

I'm not good at posting in a journal, so this may not always be up-to-date, but I'm gonna give it a try.

Mom called the nursing home down the street today and found out she has to wait until Monday to get the OK from the activities director before I can visit.

I passed my test at the Humane Society of Sarasota County a while back and am so looking forward to visiting with the residents. I have such good memories of serving as a pet therapy volunteer when I lived in Washington, D.C. (through an organization called Pets on Wheels).

My goal is to get started on my visits by next Saturday.
