Arrival Story:
I was hit by a car and picked up by our local pound. Normally they would have to put a hbc down, but when they picked me up, I looked up at them and kissed them. They knew I was special, so even though they didn't have access to vet care and antibiotics, they kept me and treated me.
I had a gash on my back leg that basically extended the length of my leg and down to the bone. They kept me quiet and changed my bandages twice a day. My mom came along two weeks later looking for a small dog. When the animal control officers figured out she was a dog person (she told them about a puppy laying on the cement that needed put back with his family cuz he was cold) they brought her back and showed me to her. I was their "Charlie" and they weren't going to let me go with just anybody.
Right away my mom realized I was special. They brought their other dog, Zrazy, to meet me. Since things went well, I got to go home for a weekend for a "trial run". I'm still here and I don't think I could be loved any more than I am. I love it here.
I'm one of The Praire Paws Adoption Center's successes stories.
