My day at Crufts!

Well it was quite a frantic start to the day....mum's alarm didn't go off! Mad rush to get ready but thank goodness everything was left in the hallway the night before and we only had mum and my snacks to put in!

We gots there a bit late and the first display had already started *embarrassed* so we dove straight in BOL.

Then we had two hour stints at the Stand whereby the public was asking questions and petting me, me was in my element with that:D

On the lunch break we had a likkle mooch about the trade stands and me was getting stopped and petted all over the place, mum took me outside for breaks and pee stops so me got some fresh air throughout the day.

After lunch we did another display and a further stint on the stand:)

We had a pawtastic day and finally got home around 8pm. We will always remember this day as one where me, the little rescue dog, came good:D:D:D

I'm going to Crufts!

well in case you didn't knows, me is off to Crufts on Thursday to take part in an Agility Demonstration to prove it is not just those Collies that do it BOL.

mum and me is getting very excited now and are on countdown:D. We hope's we don't furget to take anything! I told mum she needs to make a list and tick off stuff we need fur the day;)

I got my Crufts Pack through the post with my entry pass and mum's name badge and when we gets there mum will be handed a polo shirt *how exciting*:D:D

me thinks we are on at about 2.15pm at the Dog Activities Stand in Hall 3:D

me will reminds her to take lots of photo's and possibly get a video of me strutting ma stuff;)

I have a new Vet!

me is back home from the new Vets where me had a thorough check; booster and weighed - she said me is as fit as a fiddle and weighed in at a spot on 17.3kg, new Vet suggested the weight recorded last year was underweight for me (15.9kg); ma teeth are amazing with no plaque at all and mum couldn't believe what happened at the end of the examination ...........me actually liked the Vet and gave her a kiss!!!! All mum can say is that'll do for her:D

My 5th Birthday

Well today is my 5th Birfday and mum just don't know where the time has gone! It don't seem 5 minutes since I begged her to take me home from the Rescue Centre aged 10 weeks!

I am celebrating in a somewhat unusual way today after being at the Vetman this morning to have staples put in my wounds - courtesy of ma sis Meesha!

No, she didn't do it on purpose it was an accident:( I got in the way after a ball which went under ma belly and Meesha got me instead:( wow did it hurt:0

I is wearing one of ma mums old t/shirts to stop me and Meesha from licking them and am on restricted walks until staples come out in 10 days time:( oh well, such is life.....

Totally out of character!

well mum didn't know what came over me today in the park, i am not one to go and greet people i don't know (unlike Meesha) and i need to know them a bit first and i certainly don't go running up to strange people either but............today i saw a man stood beneath a tree looking up it and pointing a camera........i went straight over and jumped very gently up at him in a friendly manner and stayed there on him, he was up against the tree by this time with hands in air! i was wagging my tail and after mum found her voice coz she was so shocked at my actions she assured him i was friendly and that what i had done was totally out of character! Fortunately he was a doggie man and was ok with things and when i got down he gave me a friendly pat on my head. I was basically giving him a hug. Mum is still dumfounded at my action :0

PAT Dog application

well mum has been thinking about this for a while now and after a few comments yesterday at our clubs Halloween Charity Match at how wonderful I would be at it - she has applied for the application pack. I personally, hope we go ahead with it because I just love being fussed and stroked. Will keep you all posted on the outcome;)

Here's how my agility weekend went!

First of all, thankyou mum for making some time to tell all my furiends on Dogster how I did at the weekend :D

We arrives at the venue on Friday afternoon and set up camp;

Saturday morning mum wuz poorly and really didn't feel up to running but she did but i knew she wasn't herself and we gots eliminated in our first two classes:( the afternoon class went much better as mum was feeling better too...........we gots a clear in jumping in 34.766 which is quite slow fur me but a clear we gots:D

Sunday we only had two runs (mum furgot to tick the box on our entry for the 3rd) *duh* AND she walked the course THEN found out we wasn't even running it BOL.

Anyways......... the two courses we did run I gots a 5th place in Jumping out of 65 entries; and another 5th place in Agility out of 52 entries *was lying 4th but another club member whose pup is faster than me knocked me back to 5th* grrrr BOL but I wuz pawleased for him coz it was his first ever clear and it netted him a 2nd place;)

All in all it was a great weekend and the sun shone on us too:D

Clean Bill of Health!

This morning I went to the Vet for my annual Booster and check up. My regular Vet is away on his holidays so I saw the Locum. He was a very nice man and tried in vain to make me like him BOL. He wasn't sure about me as as soon as his door opened I started barking at him - all hot air mum assured him and told me to be quiet and not be silly! He thought he'd better double check when he started his examination of me coz I froze on the table and was belly growling again, mum assured him I wouldn't do anything and I didn't and calmed down as he started talking to me. My heart and lungs are perfectly ok; my eyes are perfect; my teeth haven't an ounce of plaque on them and I weighed in at 15.9kg - perfect weight he said. I also had my kennel cough vaccine and influenza this time and I didn't even sneeze as he thought I would. He also said to mum that he hasn't seen a dog as fit as me in a long time! BOL he said I was solid muscle and a wonderful speciman! He asked if I was a working dog hehehe mum told him all about my Agility career as he was so interested and by this time I was joining in the conversation and he even managed to get a wag of my tail - only slight - but a wag nevertheless BOL.

It wasn't too bad a Vet visit and that's it all done now for another year;)



Mum left feeling very proud of me and was chuffed at his comments.

A truck load of rosies!

Wow is my mum proud of me!!!

I came back with four rosettes and a trophy after this weekends competition *doing happy dance*. She never got chance to walk 3 of the courses due to work involvement because it was our own clubs show and three of the rosettes were won in those classes not walked BOL. (Now that tells you something)!

I very nearly "won out" of my Grade but was pipped to first position in the agility:( soooooo close!

I only got "E'd" once the whole weekend:D ran a course with 10 faults and the rest were clears and placements *over the moon*:D

I have to tell you about a bit of a dilemma running up the show....one of our club members got held up for 3 hours on the way to the venue and arrived gone 11pm and found the main gate entrance padlocked (by the council) mum (as show secretary) was not made aware that this would happen and in the dead of night was running up and down the camp site in her pj's on the phone and getting rained on BOL BOL. Some-one said they saw a demented woman running up and down outside their caravan! (sshhh don't tell mum I told you)

Mum can laugh now but at the time was not amused!

Nevertheless, we had a pawtastic time:D

I did good!

I not long back from my agility competition with two more rosettes under my belt:D

I got a 3rd place out of 288 entries in the "Helter Skelter" in a time of 24.847 (course time 45 secs)

and...

I got an 8th place out of 315 entries in the Jumping class in a time of 37.212 (course time 50 secs)

*doing happy dance*

mum says I did really well coz it was very warm today;) I am now snoozing on the lawn in the sunshine after a hectic day *zzzz*
