Arrival Story:
I volunteer at a local dog rescue. She was given up by the people that had adopted her about 7 years ago. The grandmother of the family lived with them and Sadie became very attached to her. The grandmother passed away and Sadie developed separation anxiety. The family did not want to deal with her new "issues" so they brought her back to our rescue. I picked her up one day for adoptions and all she did was lay her head on my shoulder in the grass all day. Myself and another volunteer were the only 2 people she would choose to be around. She refused to eat in the kennels. Once I moved into my pet friendly apartment, I couldn't bear to see her like that anymore so I adopted her, or moreso..she chose me.
