November 21, 2009: Glad to be Back!

So we haven't been able to get on for a really long time due to mom's stupid computer. First it was that the charger stopped working so she ordered a new charger. It arrived about a week later and mom was super excited to finally have her laptop back. She charged it up and was on it then just before she was about to go to bed it randomly shut off. She wasn't surprised because it tends to do that a lot but when she turned it back on the log in screen never loaded. She restarted it and the same thing happened. Later finding out this was called "The Black Screen of Death" we could find no cure for it. So we phoned up Dell and they said they could fix it but it'd take 2-3 hours on the phone then they'd still have more to do after that. Not only does mom hate talking on the phone but she knew her laptop probably wouldn't even stay on that long since it tends to shut off so much, then there was the question of cost. So she left it for a little over a month, I guess, and about a week ago, deciding she couldn't take the withdrawal anymore, reinstalled Vista...entirely clearing her system of ALL her files. Pictures, writing, music, everything. So that really sucked but we're so glad to be back and to be able to catch up with all our friends.

Wow, we really haven't been on here much, lately. The forums we used to visit most have gotten so slow and empty. Hopefully it'll liven' up a bit, soon, we miss all our friends.

We've been pretty busy over here. Mom's been occupied with school and has a bad cold so we haven't been on much. She went to the Toronto Zoo for her science class Monday and that was really fun. Of course she got loads of pictures. You can see them on her Flickr account, although they're not all uploaded yet(http://www.flickr.com/photos/ozpawz/).

She'll be going to Ottawa next week on Thursday and she won't be home until late Friday night. She's really looking forward to that. She'll be staying in a nice hotel and going to the Parliment buildings and many museums, learning about history and politics and justing hanging out with friends. Of course she'll be getting loads and loads of pictures!

I'm going to the groomer's tomorrow. Mom's dad's friend's daughter is going to groom me. Mom probably won't be there to drop me off or pick me up because she might be going to a friends but she's still kind of nervous. She tried to trim me up a bit a few weeks ago and it didn't go so well, haha. My backside was a little umm...lop-sided, bol! I think it's mostly grown back in but I don't really know, hopefully it is or else mom's going to look really stupid when she finds that mess, bol!

I also turned three years old on September 14th!

August 25, 2009: Dreading the End of Summer

Yep, we sure are dreading the end of summer, summer has gone by so fast, it sure does stink. Especially since when we went to the beach this summer we couldn't go on the regular dog beach, we had to go to the another small beach on another body of water which really wasn't that nice. We couldn't go to the dog beach because some rare birds were nesting there and couldn't be disturbed. Letting dogs around their nesting area wasn't a risk they were willing to take, even if it was fenced off. If a dog really wanted through they could find a way. We'd love to go to the beach again especially considering we even get to spend the night but considering mom got a new camera which was rather expensive I don't see that happening. We were considering meeting Natcho there before summer ended so we'll have to see if we can meet up somewhere else or we'll just have to wait.

I had a blast today on my walk. Mom and I walked to the park then she let me offleash and we played fetch using my Chuckit. While I was running back to mom with my ball she saw another dog staring at me. She called me over and clipped my leash on, then I noticied the dog, too. The other dog was lowering it's head down studying me. Eventually I started doing the same and we approached eachother in a crouch. It took us atleast two-three minutes until we actually got to eachother because we were going so slow, stopping everynow and then to try and catch eachother's scent. Once we finally met up we sniffed eachother and mom and the other dogs owner talked a bit. The other dog was named Dodge and she was gorgeous! Mom guessed she had Australian Shepherd and some other breed(s) in her. A herding breed for sure considering she was doing a herder crouch. Now, usually I don't play with other dogs right away but Dodge and I hit it off and we started running around together playing for a good ten minutes or so, we had lots of fun. Then Dodge continued on her walk and mom and I went back to playing fetch. We saw her again right when we were about to leave.

When I got home mom took me into the backyard and I went over to the pool right away. I sat on the steps and drank some water then mom slowly walked me in so I could cool off my whole body. I turned around and swam back to the stairs then sat on the third step with just my head above the water. Mom sat with me for a bit (taking pictures) then I went slowly eased myself into deeper into the water and went in for a swim all by myself which I usually don't do. Mom was impressed and thought it was cute.

I used to write in my diary regularly but I've been getting pretty lazy about it, lately. We've been keeping kind of busy, I guess. Angel and I both got bathed yesterday, eww. Mom bathed me in the tub inside and of course, took pictures. Angel was bathed outside though because she sheds SO much and it gets EVERYWHERE. She got saved from the embarassment of pictures being taken. We both really needed baths. Usually mom would just send us in some sort of body of water while we're out for a run or something but the water at Harper Road seems to get dirtier and dirtier (from us?!) every time we go so that doesn't really work. Angel stunk so bad and my fur was getting really gross, even though mom brushes me regularly.

We can't believe summer is almost over. Mom is dreading the very end. There have been rumours of school being post-poned until September 30th because of Swine Flu but mom hasn't heard much about it. It'd be nice to be out for an extra month but the thought of Swine Flu is scary, too. I don't want summer to end, either. Mom hasn't been bringing us for hikes/runs offleash as much lately, she's been keeping busy herself but she plans on taking us more places, she regrets not spending as much time with me as she would've liked to. Plus she can't help but stay up, even if she tries to go to sleep she ends up going at atleast 3:30am. It's almost 3:00am here now. Last night she stayed up until a little after 4:00am and woke up at around 2:20pm, which she hated. She wasted the day away while I was enjoying myself playing outside, bol. We'll see how the weather is outside tomorrow and maybe she'll take me somewhere. She set her alarm to get up at 9:00am even considering she'll probably go to bed around 4:00am. She wants to get back into her regular schedule, so far getting up early hasn't seemed to help, though.

Mom took a few new pictures of me today. She's trying not to use all her Flickr space this month and is too lazy to resize, we're almost at our half-point and it's only the 11th, bol, oh well, we'll try to manage. Mom also redid my page! It took a while since everything is 'handmade'. The banner picture is a picture mom took of me, she made the border and tinted the background so it was black/gray instead of blue. We were going for a black and white theme, trying to keep it Border Collie :o)

August 8, 2009: Two Years With Ozzie

It really is hard to believe Ozzie and I have been together for two years. Ozzie has caused me stress, anxiety, worry and anger, but he's also provided with me so much joy and happiness. More than enough to cancel all the 'not-so-great' out. I love him so much and I can't explain how much he's helped me or how he's saved me. Ozzie has filled in such an empty part of my life and I have absolutely no clue what I'd do without him. He gives me a reason and keeps me going. We've been through a lot together and have obviously made through it all. Ozzie's aggression was a big thing that scared me. I was afraid I was going to have my best friend taken away from me. After so much effort it just made our bond stronger.

It'd be impossible for me to thank him enough, just for being himself, just for being Ozzie, my best friend.

Yesterday mom, Angel and I went out to mom's grandparents house to stay overnight. Mom takes us out there once a year with her to stay overnight, Angel and I always have so much fun. We love to swim and go for boat rides. As soon as we got there we went for a boat ride. I was scared to get on and I totally refused to until mom got on. She called me over and I slowly approached her and she eased me on. I loved the boat ride, the breeze was so nice! Angel really loved it, too. And Snoopy adores the boat. She runs out on the dock at the mention of a boat ride and jumps right in as soon as possible then she goes to the very front of the boat and stands on the point. It's a surprise she doesn't fall in sometimes, she stands right on the edge. We went for a nice long boat ride and I really enjoyed it.

As soon as we got off the boat Angel and I ran over to the smaller dock and went for a short swim. When went inside mom tried to upload pictures onto her grandparents computer but for some reason it wouldn't work so she had to wait until she got home. Mom already uploaded them, there are a few on my page and larger sized ones on our Flickr account.

If you read my recent diary entries you know mom got a new camera. She got a Canon Rebel XSi. She's still getting used to it so our pictures might not have improved that much. You can tell more of a different from looking at them on our Flickr account, though. The Dogster pictures are much smaller and the quality is reduced a lot. Mom's still getting the hang of things but she's catching on. She's already decided on which lens she wants to get next, the Canon 50mm f1.8 II. She's heard a lot of good things about it and today she went to Black's Photography. One of the people who worked there said he used it just yesterday and really loved it and that it's a really good lens, mom can't wait to get it but it'll be a while yet.

July 24, 2009: Good & Bad News

I'll start with the good news. Mom got a new camera! Finally, after wanting one for so long she got a Canon Rebel XSi. She was so excited and happy to get one. She didn't get much of an opportunity to use it in the beginning first because it was really dark out when she got it, the next day it was raining. Today she did get a chance to use it, though. It was nasty out when mom got up but the clouds started to depart to reveal the blue sky. We went to Harper Road after supper and had lots of fun. It started to rain just when we were leaving and quickly started to pour. Mom wrap her camera in her shirt to keep it safe, haha. Overall we had a really fun day, though and tomorrow Angel, mom and I are going mom's grandparents and we're all going to stay overnight. They live on the lake and of course Angel will get to torment Snoopy (Angel loves Snoopy, Snoopy hates Angel, I don't really acknowledge her presence:P). We're going to go boating and hopefully go to one of the beaches. We're all excited, and mom's looking forward to getting pictures.

In other news...my dear friend Raja Babu Always, SDHB passed away yesterday. Please keep Raja Babu and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Raja's mom loved him dearly and gave him a wonderful life. You can tag a picture for Raja with the tag Raja09, light a candle for him here and upload a picture in Raja's memory. You can save my default picture made by P. Nutty and upload it onto your page or there are also some other pictures made by P. Nutty and others. Rest in peace, sweet, Raja. We love you!

July 16, 2009: Wasaga Beach

On Wednesday we went to Wasaga Beach. After a long drive we arrived and unfortunately found out that the dog beach was closed due to endangered birds nesting on the beach. Mom was sooo bummed but luckily they had another temporary beach on the other side, which meant it wasn't on the main body of water, which kind of sucked. The water was cooler, darker, deeper, smaller, greener and busier which boats, cottages on the other side, etc. We didn't stay overnight and we didn't even end up staying all that long because the beach wasn't the greatest. We did make the best of it, though. I had a pretty good time. I actually swam and I was fast, mom was impressed. At first all I'd do was step around the edge before it got really deep and paw at the water (trying to get my tennis ball or stick) but I wouldn't go get it. Eventually I took a chance and literally launched myself of the edge and zoomed into the water and swam out to get my toy, I had so much fun!

July 14, 2009: Ottawa Cisco Bluesfest

So far we've been having a pretty busy summer. Mom went to the Ottawa Cisco Bluesfest July 14th to see her favourite band, Our Lady Peace. I had to stay home, of course, but mom had a great time and Our Lady Peace was absolutely amazing! Mom stood through Ice Cube, too. She didn't enjoy that nearly as much, definitely not her type of music but she wanted to get some pictures especially for her sister who is in Calgary for the summer so obviously missed the concert. She was near the front of the the crowd for Ice Cube so that she could stay there and wait for Our Lady Peace to come on. When Ice Cube ended mom managed to get closer to the stage but also managed to sandwich herself perfectly inbetween two people. There was still a two hour wait but mom was determined to stick through it. A half an hour passed and mom started feeling really sick, naseous and lightheaded. She tried to stick through it but eventually just had to move. She was either going to throw up or faint and wasn't really up for either of those options. She was so mad at herself for moving afterwards but still managed to get a pretty good view of the stage. Raine Maida ran out through the middle and climbed up the side of the stage so that was cool, too. Mom loved how he interacted with the crowd. He also brought a little flip video camera so he could record the audience, he was so impressed with all the people and how everyone was cheering when a new song started and how lots of people sang along (including mom hehe). Mom got two Our Lady Peace t-shirts and had a great time.

She got a few pictures aswell, which you can see on our Flickr.

I haven't written anything for a while so I thought it was about time. We haven't really been on as much, lately. Mom hasn't been as interested in Dogster as she used to be and she's been browsing around other places and doing other things.

We haven't really done anything exciting so far, this summer. On Canada Day mom went to a friends and they slept in a tent but I had to stay home. It was with Shadow's owner and some other friends, so I think I should've been invited to play with Shadow :). Karma got to mom for not bringing me though- it started pouring basically right after they got the tent up and it continued to pour buckets all night. Mom woke up with two giant puddles from the rain beside her.

We're hoping to go Wasaga Beach for a night soon. Mom's going to the Ottawa Cisco Bluesfest July 14th to see Our Lady Peace (her favourite band) so I'll have to stay home then, too. She's going to see Our Lady Peace but she'll also be seeing Ice Cube because he's on before them. Mom can't wait she'll definitely be bringing the camera for pictures and videos.

It seems like it's finally getting nicer here. It has been pretty rainy for the last couple days. It seems to be rainy on the week days and nice on the weekends which is nice for people who work during the summer and get the weekends off but mom wishes it would just stay nice.
