Underdog Rescue needs our help.
While it's a hopefully a joyous time for humans, it's often a miserable time to be a homeless dog. During holidays, the Minneapolis Animal Control has been swamped with many unwanted dogs and Underdog has been called upon to save them. However, we have more dogs needing homes than foster homes needing dogs. Animal Controls are short-staffed over each holiday and have a policy of euthanizing as many anumals as they can as a result. Since before Thanksgiving 6-eight week old puppies, 4-four month old puppies and 7 young adult dogs got euthanized.
In order to prevent more precious lives lost, please open up your heart and home even for a short period to foster these homeless dogs. Underdog is in dire need of emergency foster homes between the dates of 12/19 to 1/19. If you or anyone you know would be able to provide emergency foster care, even if it's only for 1 week at a time, or even for the few days over the Christmas or New Year Holiday, please contact us immediately. www.underdogrescuemn.com 952-929-0777.
Please repost and pass this on!

As a rescued dog alumni, I feel a great sense of pride and duty to help out other dogs in need especially one close to home. Today I ask everyone for your help for Captain Jack. Captain Jack and I have so many things in common, we've both been abused by the ones we love and yet, still find a way to trust and love human again. We also have been rescued by Underdog Rescue here in Minneapolis. To return a favor to this great organization for saving my life, plus, six of my pups', I want to pass along their donation request:
Captain Jack's leg was severely injured when he was hit by a car. His owners just chained him in the backyard--they never took him to the vet. They just let him suffer. Months later, they finally gave him to Animal Control who called Underdog Rescue. Caption is now in a safe and loving foster home.
Captain's injured leg had to be amputated on August 7th. He seems to be feeling better already. Although the vet charged Underdog Rescue a reduced price, the cost of the surgery was still $800. This was a huge check for a small rescue organization to write, but Captain Jack deserved a second chance at a good life.
Please consider making a donation to Underdog Rescue in honor of Captain Jack. Your donation will help Underdog Rescue continues its work of finding new homes for rescued dogs and cats.

With the Breed-Specific Ban approaching my tail and all my friends in Minnesota, Andii has been so motivated and active of spreading the words out to all our friends and families. Sadly, many good Bullies out there have lost their lives in Denver, Chicago, and so on because people would rather be ignorant than educated in understanding our breed. So, in order to get the mass to be on our side, Andii is designing a bumper sticker to get our issue visible that it's not the breed that does the bad deed. Of course, it's my tail she's been chasing trying to get me to do the Pit Bull stand. No way, siree. I only know sad, damsel in distress poses. How do you think I always end up with all the good treats?? I eventually gave in and gave her an I-have-an-itchy-butt pose, which she thought it was hilarious...oh, human.
So friends, it's time to fight like a real Bully--stand up, be proud of our breed and love those who stand by us. And for those who are against us, we'll just love them to shame!
PS. I'll keep you posted when the bumper sticker is done, for those who want to get their paws on it.

Today was my second visit to the dog park by the lake. My moms took me out on my burley on the Greenway, passing by many pooches on their walk. Minneapolis is an awesome city, I thought to myself. Many squirrels, bunch of hoppin' bunnies, what more a dog could ask for. Once I got to the dog park, there weren't many dogs for me to play with. Maybe, it was just too early in the evening...or too hot out.
Though I know that I am not the most loved breed on the blocks, I still can't understand that other dog owners turn away from me. I'm a nice girl and been told that I am the embassador of the pit bull breed. My moms often told me that I have a duty to spread good words about us, bullies. But if everyone decide not to let their dogs mingle with me, how can I prove that I'm nice and gentle? I love to nozzle between your legs, just like a lab. I love to get my belly scratched, just like a beagle. I love to run around with my friends, just like any dog.
I am often seen as "bad news" before anything else. I'm not one of those dogs that don't listen. I've been trained and never pull on a walk. Most bullies are not the image of rappers and gangsters painting us as vicious and an accessory to their masculinity. It's time to give us bullies a chance to prove that we're just any other dog, a clown with a big heart.
