Arrival Story:
**We lost MacReady to cancer on 11.15.06. It was a sad, sad day, but a beautiful one because our vet treated us well, and he truly died in peace before there was any pain. He died just a few days short of his 17th birthday. His presence is forever a part of our family. MacReady is my child through marriage. I've been his mommy for five years, and I just couldn't imagine life without him. My husband got him at a flea market. A woman was selling pure bred huskies there, and the puppies were all frolicking around in a playpen. MacReady's in his "retirement years" now, but he's really really healthy and agile for his old age (14). He has a touch of arthritis, otherwise, he's very happy and SPOILED.

Bio:
MacReady is an alpha male to the core, to the point where he tries to claim ownership of me (over my husband). He's not mean though, just very stubborn and able to make his needs very clear. He is just now starting not to chase his cat-family. He's actually become pals with "Al" and "Minnie." He grew up with an Australian Shepherd ("Gullie"), and they both used to be outdoor dogs until she died (three years ago). Now he's half indoor, half outdoor. Thankfully, he's adjusted to his life without her, rather than sinking into a depression, as can sometimes happen to dogs who lose their "mates." When he's outside, he lives in a dogloo, and has a spacious backyard with a glorious privacy fence that he loves to "patrol" several times a day. He lives for evening walks, and his blue leash matches his beautiful eyes. He loves to have his belly scratched, and to lounge around near his parents at all times. He also loves to play chase, and hide-n-seek. He loves children and people. He's a little touchy with vets and groomers, but never out for blood - more snarl, with not much bite to back it. He's just the best dog, full of life and personality. He makes me smile every time I think about his pretty blue eyes. When I snuggle with him, he often literally smiles back at me. He's become the ultimate mamma's boy!
