Deat Tasha,

It doesn't seem like a year has gone by since you left us and joined Aileron, Abby and AJ on the other side of the Bridge. We had to make the hardest decision concerning you, but we know that you are siezure free and not in pain anymore and able to run and play freely with Aileron, Abby, AJ, and Rustie as well as the many Dogster and Husky Heaven pals who have crossed the Bridge before and after you.

There have been several changes around here, both good and bad. First, Rustie crossed the Bridge and joined y'all about 2 months after you crossed. Shortly thereafter Lucas finally arrived home a week after Rustie crossed. Then Panda and Max joined us, Panda in February and Max in May. Trust me though, You have not been replaced or forgotten. We see your picture and collar almost everyday on the shelf where you are resting with Abby and Rustie until the time comes where everybody will be together again.

You be a good girl (like you were ever bad) and wait for us over there. We will see you soon.

Dad

North of The Rainbow Bridge

by MakWa4me

The time comes. A Siberian Husky lifts up its head. There is an untested adventure beyond. Time to go.

Across the Rainbow Bridge is a place for all dogs. A river runs wide and shallow with tennis balls that fly with their own wings; that is the place for a Labrador or Golden to await its master's arrival.

The Siberian is not content here. Northward is its trail....

There are soft pastures for Aussies and Border Collies, with sheep and geese to pen. Agility equipment grows like trees amid Frisbees and flyball.

But the North continues its sure wild call, and the Siberian's journey continues....

Now the air is colder. Now the moon is always full. Now the light is silver and it breaks and shimmers on fields of bright snow. Now there are no roads, no walls, no pens, just endless space to run. This is where Siberians gather, North of the Rainbow Bridge.

They wait in this beautiful place, happy, but not complete. Suddenly, a howl begins, as one dog senses someone coming, someone very special. All the Siberians raise their heads and join in the ancient chorus. They dance like moonbeams and sing like winter winds.

There are red ones like dawn streaks, black ones splattered with many colors and silver ones like the first strange hour before light. They line up as if in harness and run together, in a scintillating, many-colored streak. The leader of the team guides the others past the fields and river, with racing feet and racing heart. They rush to greet the new arrival at the Rainbow Bridge, where the leader is rejoined with its beloved person, never to be parted again.

The glory of the reunion is celebrated by all the Siberians dwelling beyond the Bridge, a glimmering, multicolored team leaping and whirling with joy. The light from that scene is what we see on magical evenings in the northernmost parts of this Earth: The Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights beyond the Rainbow Bridge

At 9:45 today I crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The seizures started again early yesterday morning and continued all day. Mom and dad then had to make one of the hardest decisions that ever has to be made. Now I am seizure free and playing with AJ, Aileron and Abby as well as Buzz and many of my other Dogster friends who crossed before me. Mom and dad are going to have me cremated.

Well, my seizures have stopped Friday and dad has cut back a bit on my meds. He says that I am like a new dog now as my personality has changed again. I will follow him around all over the place and want to be petted and such ALL the time and fuss if I'm left in the other room. I am even showing less fear in, and more interest in the other kids. I am back to eating normally though dad is still gluing the pills to a cookie just to make sure that I get them. However, now I am sometimes having problems going up and down steps, stumbling when I'm walking and even just standing up when I've been laying down.

Well dad out foxed me yesterday, and I am now getting my meds. Though I don't like peanut butter he found that if he puts a tiny bit on a cookie just to make the pill stick, I will take it. The dose was increased for a bit to get the levels up again and will be dropped once the seizures stop.

I'm still having problems with the seizures. Dad thinks that it is because of mom going out of town and me refusing to eat for him. I take my meds in my food, so no eat - no meds. I won't open my mouth to take them that way and I won't take them in cheese, bread either. Dad is working on the problem.

I started having seizures again today. These are not as violent as previous ones and not as long as the past ones. I snap out of it almost at once too.

Well, I tempted fate and lost. I started having some seizures again yesterday while mom and dad were at work and more last night. Mom and Dad quickly uped my Pheno and gavve me extra Valium. It does not appear that I had any today while mom and dad were at work and the vet said to keep the Pheno at 2x the dose that I was on. We have no idea what has caused this new batch. I had been seizure free since early March and then out of the blue, this. We hope the vet can get me in for testing tomorrow.

Well, I hope I'm not tempting fate, but it's been 5 months since my last seizure. The meds I have to take must be working. I am still a shy little girl with dad and the other kids. Mischka keeps trying to get me to play, but I get scared when she does and then I run to my cage. All in all though I'm doing OK though.
