lazy days...

today is a lazy day- i heard mommy say it. It's 10 am and the day is just starting....i for see laying down in bed, on the couch, on my bed, on carpet, on the kitchen floor, or anywhere- thats my plan for today.

My barkday!

yesterday was my barkday!

it was fabulous!

the day started off slowly- the humans didnt get up until noon!

but first thing me, mom, and dad all went for a nice walk.

we even went down the forbidden path (i dont know why its forbidden, probably something due to the no trespassing sign). Then mom let me run around in the field off leash. I played tag with dad, he's so slow, i always win.

On the way home i let every pup in the neighborhood know it was my barkday- they all woofed back at me and it was quite the chorus of canines!

Mom gave me little sliced turkey treats all day, everytime she opened that fridge I was there, waiting.

I even got pieces of hot dog while me and mom practiced our new trick.....hopefully we will be ready soon and i can put a video of it on the site....

We went for a short car ride (the car has been under the weatyher lately) over to mom's parents house. I played with my feline sister for a bit and jumped around in the back yard.

I didn't get any new toys, but mom says next trip to the pet store i can pick out whatever I want.

It feels great to be six years old!

clean teeth!

i'm still a little groggy but mom says everything went well while i was under anesthesia. While she was cleaning my teeth she found some that didnt look so good. I got five extractions in all. While i was under they brushed out my tail and but really nice so i'm all fluffy now! now that i have nice clean teeth i can give everyone kisses right on the face!

long long time no bark!

wow! its been ages since i got onto dogster! the laptop was being kept up in the attic and for some reason no one every goes up there. but now dad's got it down in the bedroom.

well- things have been great over by me. on tuesday mommy is taking me to work to have my teeth cleaned. i'm a little nervous because mom says i'm going to have to go to sleep to get them cleaned. but i know mom will be right there, and she would never let anything bad happen to me- and the best part is that i'll wake up with bright shiny teeth!

hopefully i will be able to get on to post updates more often- plus i have some new pics to upload.

my adoption-day!

well- needless to say i didn't get much of a chance to comeby on wednesday-but i had a great day!

3.26 is the day momadoptedme. its hard to believe i've been with her for a whole year now. we've been though a lot together- crazy landlords, foster-care with the grandparents, a many other things.

reflecting back i can barely remember life without my family now.

I wanted to thank everyone for the warm wishes on my special day.

i enjoyed a leisurely walk with mom in the morning and then accompanyied her to work. i lounged around while some of the other dogs played. as a special treat i got gravy on my crumbles at dinner time. we didn't have a big celebration- just some good old fashioned quality time!

i'm a dog?

mom's been watching a lot of agility videos on the net lately. I'm having trouble believing that those are dogs doing those jumps and such, and if they're dogs, what am i? i don't jump like that, or move that quick or with any sort of co-ordination.

they is something about the 'dogs' on these videos- they seem to listen- almost 100% of the time. I have over heard mom saying i have selective hearing- i think thats her way of dealing with the fact that i dont listen to her. its not that i dont want to but its such a hassle. come here pixie (when i'mlying down) or go lay down pixie (when i want to act like a nut case) or no barking (when there is clearly something that requires barking).

so am i still a dog is i don't do all the doggie things that these other pups do? dad says yes i am a dog- a very bad dog though- but i know he's just being a meanie (he's jealous that mom loves me more!)

so as i lay on the couch, in my easter dress, i ask- am i a dog? what qualifications do i fill?

today has been a very existential mental exercise...so now i am going to behave like a dog- jump off the couch and go lick a bone in the corner to calm my nerves.

hello hello- anybody out there?

any body out there? thats how i feel- been disconnected for the dogster community lately. lots of hub-bub around home.

moms finally got round to doing her taxes. not getting back as much as planned- but we'll manage.

i've been having quite the gand old time. the weather has been changing in my favor,leading to increasing walks! today was a bit windy- i felt like my 30 lb self was going to fly away.

i have been devouring my toys lately. mom got some good pucs of my with a soft bone that didnt last too long.

hopefully i'll be back soon to update and upload pics!

livin' the life.....

i hate to stay away from dogster- but i've just been so busy having fun!

mom started getting me cute little stuffed toys- i dont know why it didnt dawn on her to do it before- but i love them. I methodically pluck ougt all the fur, then find the weak spot and rip that sucker open! after i pull all the stuffing out i carry it around with me all night. It must be pretty funny cause mom cracks up every time.

i wanna try and get back into daily dogging- but its hard with the schedules and all. i miss talking to everyone- and all the games we played!

either way- i'll have a nice stockpile of zealies for when i return.

livin' the life

well- i'm getting accustom to the new place. I think i have sniffed all the corners and swept the entire place with my tail.

i'm getting back into a nice routine with mom- we've even got little training sessions going on- nothing spectacular, just some sit-stays, puppy push-ups, uppies. just trying to get back into the swing of things.

i'm also finally realizing what a nice guy dad is. for a while i wasn't too sure why mommy liked him, but he's actually pretty cool. he gives good butt-rubs- and he left some jerky out on the table the other night- mmmmmm- midnight snack.

well- i have to go observe the cleaning of the kitchen. everytime they mop up my hair balls i make sure i know exactly where to put the new ones.

It's good to be back!

Well- after 3 companies, 7 installation dates and countless hours on the phone we finally got cable and internet service!

mom wanted to check her email but i barked her out of the way- there was no way she was getting the keyboard before me!

Things have been pretty uneventful for me- daily walkies, lots of hugs and kisses, many butt-rubs- its good to be a dog! mommy has been brushing my teeth a lot lately- but she says thats proper dental hygiene is important for a pup that likes giving kisses as much as i do!

well- i'm off to check in with some groups....man have i missed all you pups!
