Vet Visit

Well I had to go to the vet on Monday and it wasn't a pleasant visit for me anyway. I get very nervous when I go there and all my hair starts to fall out all over the place. I really didn't want to go but Mom keep saying that ear isn't getting any better to Dad, so off we went. I had something stuck up my butt, I had something long stuck and twisting in my ear, but then the doctor let me smell it so that was ok. Then it turns out that I have a yeast infection in my ear. And I have to get more medicine put in my ear everyday now for a week or longer. Then Mom starts talking about my bark again, I swear there is nothing wrong with my bark, I bark all day long. Mom says that's my problem I bark to much, the Doc says that my vocal cords are a little scarred but that they should be ok. Mom says I should be more quite but I'm a dog. Maybe I'll stop for her. We'll see......

My Birthday

Today is my Birthday....I'm 9 yrs old today and I don't feel a day over 1 yr old. I think I'm still as frisky as I was back then, well sometimes anyway. I'm just hanging out with Mom and Dad today. That's what I like to do best these days anyway. I think I did hear them say that they are going to take me up to the track for a romp around, so that will be good. Mom keeps saying that I'm going to be around for atleast another 10 more years. I hope she's right. Well I'm off to get some extra belly rubs from her and Dad.

Reggie and Me (My new Cousin)

Well last weekend my new cousin "Reggie" arrived. He is a Hound mix, Mom says he has the face of a Beagle so he is a mix of something. So he arrived on Thursday and we didn't meet till Sat. Mom and Aunt Allison wanted Reggie to rest a little bit from his surgery before the meeting. So here he comes running in my house like he owns the joint. So I had to show the little guy who is boss around here. Had to give him a few nips and growls and then I think he got who was boss. After a while things calmed down and then he went an laid in my bed and went to sleep, but it was ok. They say he is about 1yr old, and you know me I'm not up for the these young pups any more, but when I want I can still give them a run for there money. But I think it will all work out in the end for both Reggie and me. More to come later......

Vet Visit AGAIN

Well I was at the vet again today for a follow-up from last week. Mom took me last week for my ears again. They still were not clearing up from when we were there back in Jan. So once again we had to go again last week. Which I was glad because they were really bothering me. The infection actually went into the other ear this time. So when we went last week the Doc said that they were very bad, and Mom was upset, cause we know she isn't a bad Mom and she trys but it was just a bad infection. So the Doc said that she had to do an ear wash every night in both ears. Well the Doc could she the fear in her face cause she knows that I don't like things in my ears. And gave her more medicine and pills and said I want to see him back in a week, to make sure that she does the ear wash. So now she knows that she has to do it. Well she got Dad to do it. She held me and Dad did the deed. So when we went back today he gave me a clean bill of ears!!!!BOL. They only have to do the ear wash every other day for a week now and then I should be good. I hope!!!!

We are also keeping our furend Bonnie in our thoughts and hope that everything is ok with her.

Snow Day

Well we just got our first big snow of the year, I'd said we got about 3-4 inches of snow. I know not alot compared to some places out there, but enough for us. And personally I hate it. I'm not a snow dog at all. Mom puts this stupid bright yellow jacket on me, but it's my feet that I hate getting all wet and cold. Dad is out there and he is trying to get me to come out and play and I just don't want to. I will be glad when the warm weather comes. So I will be counting the days till the snow is gone. My cousin Reggie can't come out and play either this weekend, cause his Mom (my Aunt) took him to get his declaws taken off, so his back paws are all wrapped up and he can't get them wet. He probably wants to go out and play in the snow. You know how those young pups are. We are doing better together though, I think by summer we'll be old pals.

Me, Mom and Dad want to send our condolences to our furend Bonnie's Family that went to the Bridge this week. We will miss you Bonnie

Happy Easter

Well tomorrow is Easter again, and last Thursday was the 1st day of Spring which I was so happy about. Because that means it closer to summer and closer to camping. Which really is only two more weekends away anyway. Mommy and Daddy are very excited about going camping I think Mom actually started getting stuff together today. Not quite sure what we are doing yet for tomorrow, but I know we will all be together. Maybe I'll go over and spend time with my cousin Reggie, we're getting better. I still have my moments with the young boy though.

Spring Time

Hi Everyone~

It's been a while since we last updated the diary, hope everyone is doing good. We are doing good, we've started camping for the season and it's been great, the weather has been wonderful. Me and cousin Reggie have been getting along a lot better now. We play more and it's not mean like it was in the beginning when I first met him. He is growing on me now. He is much bigger than me too. But I don't let him know that he scares me. I've gotten a few new pup pals too. I love getting new pals. So I'm hoping to keep up more often this time, hope all is well with all my pals. Bark at you all soon.

Getting Old

Well I know I'm getting old now, last weekend when we went camping we had to come home early because I was acting up. I woke up in the middle of the night friday and I was panting and shaking and I wouldn't lay down and I was pacing back and forth and then I was up all night. Mom had to sit up with me the whole night, we saw the sun come up. Dad was mad and Mom was worried that she didn't know what was wrong with me. So we left Sat. morning and came home. I was fine when I got home, but then Sunday I was throwing up all over. Mom was worried, gave me some of my Pepcid AC for my stomach and then I seemed to be fine. Mom seems to think that since I'm getting older that I don't like to be taken out of my environment and that's why I got upset on Friday camping. So I think that from now on I will be staying home for a while. Mom is also taking me to the vet to get my Senior Wellness Check done too, now I really feel old.

latest vet visit

Well Mom took me to have my Senior Wellness Check done last week she had to get a urine sample too, you should have seen Mom trying to get that I didn't make it easy on her. Well anyway, the test results come back.....the blood work is good, but the urine is so so, they tell Mom that I have protein in my urine and that they want to watch my kidney's that it could lead to damage. So they suggest to have them checked every 3 months. So I guess it's a good thing to find out now. I know Mom is worried she is always looking at me now and checking me all the time. I also have cataracts in both eyes too, doctor said that is ok as long as I'm not walking into things I'm still ok. I guess it just comes with old age. But I'm going to be around for another 10 more yrs at least that's what Mom keeps saying. Sorry I haven't been writing to everyone lately, I will try to keep up more. First day of Summer

Happy first day of summer to all of my pup pals... hope everyone is doing good. I'm doing good and enjoying this lovely weather. I want to thank Cooper and his family for my beach ball and Squeek for my heart. Mom and Dad were home all weekend no camping for them, so it was great, I had them all to myself. We got to play out in the yard yesterday and today, they wet me with the hose, which I love!!!!!! My cousin Reggie is still a bad boy, he is digging huge holes in his yard. We still play together though. But I hear his Dad say a lot " I'll put my foot up your butt boy". BOL!!!!! I remember those days when I was a pup!!!! Well have a great summer to all my pup pals and bark at you soon.
