Life according to Daisy....

Surgery?!

Wow, well THAT came from out of nowhere fast!! I have had a mole on my left side since before I moved in here. The vet said not to worry unless it started to grow. WELL a few days ago Daddy noticed it was growing, and then he showed Mommy. Mommy was worried, but not too much. She tried calling the vet on Tuesday, to have him look at it. The vet was busy, so Mommy called again yesterday. Today she finally got to talk to someone, and the vet said he would need to look at it to decide what next.

Mommy knew it would have to be removed. We went today to see if I would need to be put under or if he could do it with just local anesthesia would suffice. The vet looked at it, and then he disappeared to see if he could do it TODAY!! It was just 15 minutes before his office closed, AND he was short staffed. Mommy told him she would bring me back tomorrow, knowing how busy he was. He told her to hang tight and wait.

5 minutes later he was back in the room and told Mommy and Daddy that he wanted it taken off now and sent out to the lab for testing! He took me back to the procedure room, while Mommy and Daddy went to the lobby to wait. About 20 minutes later one of the girls brought me out to Mommy and Daddy. I am now wearing a retched E-collar and I have 3 staples in my left side!!

Mommy feels SO bad about this, since she didn't TELL me it was going to happen!! She said we were going for shots! Okay, so I did get my yearly shots while I was there, but STILL!! We left there sort of in a daze, and Mommy has to call tomorrow to find out when the test results will be back. It wasn't even on her mind when she saw the stapled shut hole on my side! All she could do was hold back the tears for me and hold me tight! Hey, I am a tough chick!! Ask the vet, he'll tell you I didn't even flinch during the whole thing! Oh well, I am gonna MILK this for all I can!! MOMMY!! I was a treat and then a nap!! See, she is at my every beck and call!!

I will keep you updated on the test results. For now though, I want to sleep....Mommy says I am drugged up....I say I am just milking the whole ordeal!! Our secret though, don't let Mommy know!! ;-)

Mommy has officially changed my name now.

Mommy has called me Daisy Jane for quite awhile now. She called me that the first time when I was chasing one of my cat brothers. She said, "Daisy Jane!", and I just stopped in my tracks! Mommy laughed and said she guessed that was my middle name!! It took someone long enough to figure that out though!!

So now I am not just Daisy, but Daisy Jane.

Don't let the sun get in my eyes and the moon WON'T break my- heart!! BOL!!

I think I told you about my sunglasses yesterday when I told you that I get to stay HERE forever. I love my new sunglasses, and the fact that my eyes no longer hurt when I am out in the sun. I also have some lighter lenses that I can wear in stores and other places with bright lights. I DO NOT like the fact that I can't see out of the sides, but Mommy says I will get used to that.

I hope so!! These glasses feel SO good to my eyes, despite being annoying to me. I guess I just have to put up with a slight discomfort to get the wonderful benefits! Mommy also it may help prevent any blindness in my future. I am also eating Blue Buffalo dog food now because of its vitamins and antioxidants. I will be finding out today or tomorrow some about vitamins I can take for my eyes.

Mommy says we can fight the blindness that may come, and we WILL fight it. We can possibly my vision at least!! If any of you other dogs out there have eye problems, I would LOVE to hear from you!
