It's official, I'm STAYING!!!!!

The folks here just announced it! They say that everybody here is getting along just fine and that even though I ate a notebook and a luggage tag and a bit of mom's oriental rug, I GET TO STAY!!!!!!

Uh, did I just call her mom?

anyway.

I'm so excited I'd chase my tail (if I had one)!

Yay! Chews on the sofa!

Moles in the yard!

Scooter to chase! ok, scratch that last one.

I gotta find Cati so we can have a celebratory wrestle!!

C'mon Cati let's frap!

Everything is so NEW!

Like yesterday, I caught my first mole here. Look, I realize that Cati found it first, but while she was digging on one side of it's tunnel, it made it's way over to me so I chomped it! One mole down, a million more to go! Now that I know where they live, I'm checking every molehill around. I'll get 'em.

We went for a drive the other day and little did I know how different that would be. I'm used to travelling anywhere--and I do mean anywhere-- in a crate. Always worked just just fine for me. But the people got me a "Seatbelt", so it was two dogs in the backseat on a Sunday drive. I was scolded considerably to begin with 'cause I flopped around a lot. It takes some time to learn how to car surf. But I had it down by the time we got home. Not sure if I like the Seatbelt better than the crate, but that's the way Cati rides and doggone it, if she can, so can I!

Still lots of new foods to try here. Tomato, apples, notebooks, velcro. I tasted the electrical outlet a few days ago. Decided it should go on the list of inedibles. The notebook was pretty nifty though.

Thoughts for the day...

It's been one week and one day since I got here.

I think I like it here.

I think I'd like to stay.

It's not much like my previous home. The folks were great there, don't get me wrong, it's just that there were so many dogs and so few people, ya kinda had to stick up for yourself. Here, there's just one other dog and one cat. The odds are much better.

They say the dog is my "neice" whatever that means. All I know is that she doesn't have a clue how to manage a household. She can't even speak dog language very well. But she speaks human beautifully. I'm going to have to work on that.

There are so many new things to see and do here. Stairs, for one thing. I hadn't had much experience with stairs before, so I was a little afraid of them at first. Now I realize that stairs are just a vertical racetrack. I'm like Jeff Gordon whizzing around on the stairs, soooo fast--zoom! I guess that makes Cati Dale Earnhardt 'cause she bumps into me on purpose and sends me into the wall. The people here call it trading paint.

I'm not really sure about all the things I'm allowed to do and not do. Like at my other home, I didn't get on the furniture, which was fine. But here, the cat and Cati both get on the furniture with the humans. Last night was the first time I sat on the couch and I was afraid I might get scolded for it, but I got tummy rubs instead!

I have also learned a new phrase. Here it is: Max get out of the mulch.

It means get out of the flowers. It also means I can't even stand near the flowers, take careful aim, and mark the flowers. In fact it means don't even go where you feet will take you on the bits of wood near the flowers.

Don't get me started about the cat, though. The humans act like they're the alpha dogs, but it's not true. I know who really runs the show around here. It's Scooter, the cat. She's the alpha. Want proof? Just challenge her-she'll let you know real quick.

Think I like it here. Even if Cati is a little wierd. Wonder if I can stay...
