Favorite Toy: Pink bunny that she has had since she was a few weeks old.
Favorite Food: Greenies - cheese - Blue Bufflo is her normal meal
Favorite Walk: Around the yard, guarding it from all predators, big and small
Best Tricks: Mind control over her dad and letting him know when it's time for a Greenie.
Arrival Story: My mom and dad wanted a puppy since they hadn't had a dog in awhile. My dad was convinced a Dachshund was the best choice and since my mom had grown up with Dachshunds she thought that would work, too. They found a breeder and went to look at the litter and went home with my sister, Lily, who is black and tan. They thought I was so cute and they wanted me, too. They couldn't get me off their minds so they called the breeder and told her that they wanted me, too. As it turned out, 2 Dachshunds babies were too much for them to handle so my dad's human son took Lily and I got to stay with mom and dad. Yea!
Bio: I have been very healthy, but I am sometimes grouchy and unfriendly to other people and other animals. I need to be careful, though, cause I am not very big even though I have big teeth. The vet told my mommy that I am too protective of her.
I have been with my pawrents since I was 7 or 8 weeks old. I don't remember being anyplace else.
I am a beautiful rusty red color and I weigh too much at fifteen pounds. Daddy keeps saying I need to go on a diet, whatever that is. He says miniature dachshunds are supposed to weigh much less than I do.
We used to live in a big house with a huge yard that I could run around in. All the neighbors knew me, too. In 2005 we moved to a smaller house that was easier for me and mommy to take care of. I think they call it "downsizing".
We spent the weekend at auntie's house. She lives about a hundred miles away from us so it was a long car ride. I love car rides, but my pug sisters are more rowdy and they had to travel in the crate. I, however, got to sit on mommy'a lap the entire time. I am so special.
Auntie lives in a very small town in northeast Kansas. She has a big backyard with old, old trees in it. Auntie feeds the birds and squirrels so they are abundant in her yard. I tried and tried to catch the squirrels, but those wiley little things ran right up the trees and stared at me. They mocked me, even! BOL! Well, I just stared back at them and they were afraid to come down. BOL! I tried to climb a tree, too, but discovered that it is harder than they made it look. Anyway, that'll teach them that I am a great squirrel hunter.
