God saw as you were getting tired
A cure was not to be
So he wrapped His arms around you
And whispered 'Come with Me.'
With tearful eyes
We watched you suffer
And saw you fade away
Although we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands laid to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

A Simple Message From Your Pet
by Ken D. Conover
To have loved and then said farewell is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and
returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you. For the care that you gave to me
so unselfishly. For all of these things I am grateful and thankful. I ask that you grieve
not for the loss but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each other's lives.
My life was fuller because you were there, not as owner, but as my friend. Today, I am
as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among fthe flowers and
the sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures. I can run, jump and play
and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints
and no regrets and no aging. We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know
that togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such
as you are very rare and unique. Don't hold the love that you have within yourself.
Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies,
and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.
Your pet in heaven.

I got an urgent email from my pals Angel Mica the Wonderpup and Mirra aka The Purple Girls of Oregon. It seems as though there is a pretty house plant being sold in stores all across the country which is extemely toxic, if ingested, to both furs and furless. TPGOO have asked their furiends to help bark out and I am asking all my pals to do the same. The following is inFURmation I found in Plus Forums Informational thread SAGO PALM IS A POISONous PLANT!.....
IMPORTANT WARNING
PLEASE Cross post:
Greetings from the Burnt Hills Veterinary Hospital.
Our goal is to make our clients the most educated pet owners in the community.
Recently the home improvement stores have stocked their shelves with a plant called "Sago Palm". This is a decorative houseplant that you may be tempted to purchase.
If your pets ingest ANY part of this plant it will cause liver failure. Even with aggressive veterinary treatment 70% + of these pets will die. We implore you to keep your household free of this plant. We are devastated when we are unable to help your pets.
Go to our website and get a look at this plant.
SAGO PALM
If that isn't enough to convince you to help spread the woof, check out another Plus thread, started by pretty, little Tallulah Belle who nearly died after consuming some of a Sago Palm! Thank God and Dog, she survived, but many haven't.... and sadly, won't. :(
In addition to the deadly SAGO PALM, my pawsome pal Mica, gone to The Bridge too soon due to IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) , has been on a mission to help find a cure fur the deadly disease.
I am BOL to everywoof to visit Mica's Dogster page, READ HER BIO, and her Diary, and become aware of IMHA and IMTP (Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia). I hope everywoof can make even a small efFURt to support Mica's cause to help find a cure. Pawlease, everywoof, you could be the next fur who is affected by these deadly diseases. I hope you care and can try to help. I did, and it's time fur me to help a little bit more! I start by BOL in this Diary entry and continue by digging Mom's checkbook out fur her and asking her to use it. Every woof and every dollar gets us one step closer to a cure!
Thanks fur taking the time to hear me bol and fur taking the time - and making the space- to bol yourselves.
All paws united fur Power of the Paw! It can work miracles!

I found this in my furiend's, Special Dawn's, Diary. I'd like to help her share it....
'Twas The Night Before Christmas...
T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The stockings where hung by the chimney with care
In the hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there
But at the North Pole sudden changes arose
All down to Rudolph and his ruby red nose
Clipboard in hand, a breed expert arrived
He motioned to Santa saying," please step aside".
A smooth haired coat and a muscular build
A broad deep chest our Rudolph did yield
The breed expert's pen, created pages of ticks
Then he suddenly called out "good lord, we've been tricked!"
"This creatures no donkey and clearly no horse!
I know these things! I've attended the course!"
Look at my clipboard the boxes are full!
It's very obvious to me: Rudolph is a pit bull!
Out with the measuring sticks, he explained to Santa the law
And he measured poor Rudolph from shoulder to floor.
As the spectacle continued Santa said with a sigh
He's a reindeer you fool! Why must he die?
"The law is the law" the expert said standing tall,
Then picked up his mobile and made a quick call
The sound of sirens filled the peaceful night air
and Rudolph removed ...to who knew where?
Days turned too weeks and confused and alone
Rudolph pined, for the place he called home
As the first snow started falling Rudolph gave up the fight
And he took his last breath on a cold winters night
You may think this is funny, if a little untrue.
But how would you like it, if it happened to you?
If your dog was taken because of its look...
Because it ticked enough boxes in some silly book?
Regardless of parentage it doesn't matter what breed
If it ticks enough boxes then it's a done deed
So humor me here and pretend this is true
Think how you would feel if it happened to you.
Cuddle your hounds while you have them close by
For some spend this Christmas, waiting to die.
Now back to the story, it doesn't end there
One more short verse I need to share
Santa fetched Rudolph's body and cried for his friend
And swore to himself, this would not be the end
And I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight
"The law is wrong, please help us to fight!"

Appawently Cosette and I aren't the only ones who think we look alike!
Thanks fur voting fur us, everyfur! And thanks fur the shining furever star, too! I will cherish it always.
So long fur now. I have furiends and furmily to go watch over. I'll woof again soon.

Her name is Cosette. She and I look so much alike, we could pawbably be twins, but somehow she just looks sooooo much more beautiful than I do. *clears throat* Of course, I would be refurred to as handsome, I suppose, *squirms awkwardly* but... well... you get my drift..... Ummm, yeah! Well, ooooookay!
That's all. Cosette and I look exactly alike! And she's beautiful! Ummm.... uh-oh. Here I go again... *rolls eyes*

FORGOTTEN DOG'S CHRISTMAS
Author unknown
Twas the nite before Christmas when all thru the house
Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nick soon would be there.
The children all nestled all snug in their beds
With no thought of the dog filling their heads.
And mamma in her kerchief and I in my cap
Knew the dog was cold, but didn't care about that.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Figuring the dog was free of his chain and into the trash.
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But Santa Clause with eyes full of tears.
He unchained the dog once so lively and quick
Last year's Christmas present now painfully sick.
More rapid than eagles he called the dog's name
and the dog ran to him despite all his pain.
Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen
On Comet on Cupid on Donner and Blitzen.
To the top of the porch to the top of the wall
Let's find this dog a home where he will be loved by all.
I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year
For Santa had made one thing quite clear.
The gift of a dog is not just for the season
We had gotten the dog for all the wrong reasons.
In our haste to think of the kids a gift
There was one important thing we missed
A dog should be family, and cared for the same
You don't give a gift, then put it on a chain.
And I heard him explain as he rode out of site,
"You weren't given a gift, you were given a life."

This beautiful poem always helps make Mom feel better when she starts to miss me and feel sad.
Rainbow Bridge Poem|
|Author Unkown |
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
