The momma just phoned the vet's office to see if the biopsy results are back yet. Apparently the vet had phoned the Veterinary College about the results today, and was told they still aren't available. We are hoping that no news means good news. We will keep you pups updated once we know.

Thank you Dogster for naming me one of the Diary Picks of the Day today! Thank you also to the pals that have sent pawmails and rosettes to help me celebrate today.
I am doing good, but just wish I could run and chase things. There have been deer and rabbits in my yard and all I can do is bark at them! The nerve of those critters to taunt me like that!
Thanks again everypup!

Good morning pups, I am just waking up from surgery so I will let my mom talk to you. Hugs, Abby.
I just got a call from the vet and Abby is just waking up from the anesthetic. On removing the growth/tumor it wasn't immediately apparent what it might be, so he asked me if he could send it to the Veterinary College for histological testing. Hopefully we will have the results of this by the end of the week or by next week at the latest. I will be able to pick her up around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.
Hopefully the histological results show that the lump/tumor is nothing to worry about. We will keep you posted once we get the results. Thank you for the pawmails, rosettes and continued good wishes.

Well pups, I am back from the vet and I am scheduled for surgery on Monday morning.
The vet examined the lump and got a worried look on his face. Mom has never seen him have a worried look on his face, even when I ruptured my CCL he didn't get that expression. He looked at my chart on the computer, asked mom a few more questions then examined the lump again and then looked at my gums to see what color they were.
He told mom she had reason to be worried, of course that made her worry more. He said he really doesn't know what it is but it doesn't feel or look like a fatty lump and if he could have removed it today, he would have. The lump is not quite the size of a golf ball and it is a dark purple in color.
Please do not send rosettes, but if you could send me lots of positive thoughts for Monday when I have my surgery that would be appreciated.

If you pups could spare a positive thought for me for tomorrow it would be appreciated. Mom was rubbing my belly this afternoon and noticed a growth on it. She got all upset and made me a vet appointment for tomorrow morning.
We are hoping it might just be an infection of some kind, but we will keep you posted. Please do not send any rosettes, just a positive thought that it isn't anything serious is all I need. Hugs!

It has finally stopped raining here, and the momma and I decided to go for a nice morning walk. The momma suggested we go to the river, and I got all excited and away we started on down the path to the river.
As soon as we got to the bottom of the riverbank I started acting strangely according to the momma. I circled around her, stopped in front of her and then started back up the riverbank, I only stopped once to make sure she was following me up. When the momma was halfway up the riverbank she stopped and looked back down. She saw a big black head and two yellow eyes staring back at her.
We are both pretty sure that was a wolf.

Well pups, apparently silence is golden! I do not agree with this.
You see, I like to bark. There are many critters that wander onto my property and I must bark at all of them. If they happen to wander onto the property at 1:30 a.m. or 4:30 a.m. I must bark at them. I must! I must warn the peeps about the trespassers!
The last few days the peeps have had colds and have been trying to get some extra sleep. Is it my fault that at 4:30 a.m. those two deer were in the yard and I had to bark at them and thus wake everybody up? Is it my fault the peeps couldn't get back to sleep after that?
In an effort to get more sleep, last night the peeps actually pulled down all the blinds in the house, thus rendering me no view to the outside world all night. I think this is cruel and unusual treatment. Luckily for me, when mom pulled up the blinds this morning, I got to bark first at a rabbit and then a fox!

Yesterday I really surprised daddy.
It was in the evening and I was lying in my favorite spot on the dining room floor right in front of the patio doors that go out onto the deck. Suddenly I start barking and barking and the peeps come to see what I was barking about. At first mom thought she saw our neighbors dog in the yard and was gonna let me out, and then she realized that it was coyote and a rather big one at that. Mom decided not to let me out and I kept barking at that coyote that was trespassing on my land!
Dad decided that both me and him should go outside and see where the coyote went. We get outside and dad goes in the direction the coyote was last seen in and I went racing down the drive. Dad calls me back and I go racing by him and down the path to the river as fast as I could. Dad couldn't believe how fast I ran!
He said to mom when we came back in that for an old girl with a bum leg I can race with the best of them!

It is a frosty spring morning, not much above 0 C when The Mighty Huntress and the momma go on their morning walk. The momma stops to look at some of the trees that are just budding out in the yard.
Suddenly The Mighty Huntress starts scratching at the grass in front of her. Her head goes back and then she leans forward for a better sniff. In the wink of your eye, The Mighty Huntress pounces and raises her head triumphantly with a snake firmly clasped in her jaws.
The Momma has learned from past experience to move away quickly when The Mighty Huntress catches a snake!
The Mighty Huntress does her patented over the head twirl and then she does her patented twirl where she bashes the snake into the ground repeatedly. She releases the snake and gives it another good sniff. She walks away leaving The Momma to clean up the carnage.

The momma is very crafty pups and yesterday she tricked me! She told me we were going for a ride and I was so excited. I was happily riding in the truck and when we took the ferry across the river, I happily barked at all the seagulls and pelicans that were flying around.
Then we get off the ferry, drove a bit more and the truck stops. It stops in front of the vet's office. Oh my dogness!
I had my yearly checkup and vaccinations yesterday. The vet said I was in good shape for an old girl of 11! Hey, who is he calling old! Just for that, when he gave me a treat at the end of the appointment I spit it out at him! That will show him.
He really examined my leg that I injured and had surgery on and I didn't like it. He said the arthritis in that leg has gotten much worse and that my knee is three times the size of my other one. He is quite happy I am able to keep as active as I do.
I was really happy then the exam was over, and I started barking lots and jumping at the door when mom was trying to talk to the vet at the end of the appointment. Eventually she got my point and I very happily left the vets office.
