Sweet Whiskey is still hanging in there. I think our mom is having a real tough time with this. All I know is the me and Rascal are praying very hard that he crosses over the Rainbow Bridge in his sleep soon. We ruv our brudder.

Now when I wrote my last diary I forgot to mention a couple of things that happened on tuesday. When we were all at walmart. My pawrents and I were waiting in the pharmacy area since that is where the benches are for my pawrents to sit on. We were waiting for rautnie. While waiting well I was tracking a fly. Now mom had put me in a down stay and I didn't break no matter how much this fly teased me. Then the fly made one last final buzzing around my head. In one last fly by I just snapped at that fly and caught it! Now another thing happened while I was just sitting there. I heard my mommy ask daddy did he and he said no. Then she said oh it must have been Sandy. All I did was fart. All I know is the guy that was sitting behind my pawrents got up and left. Do you think I was a stinker? ;-) Not long after that we left for rauntie's house. One of the things that seems to tickle my rauntie Tara is when I pick up things that have been dropped. I really ruv helping by picking up whatever my mommy drops. Well while we were at rauntie's house. My rauntie had a very bad case of the dropies. She kept dropping one thing after another and I kept picking up whatever she dropped. Mom just looked on with pride. Rauntie was purtty surprised to find out that I do not slobber most of the things that I pick up.

Well I didn't write a diary yesterday because my mommy had one heck of a fall while Rascal, me and her where walking downhill. What started this was I think a cat that bolted right past Rascal & me. Well as soon as Rascal saw it he started barking and wanting to go after it. For that brief moment I forgot that mommy was on the other end of our leashes and joined him. Well it didn't take me long to figure out that this was a major oppsy on our part. I stopped and looked back only to see mommy laying on the ground and not making happy noises at all. I went over to check on her. She was hurt so I just stood right next to her waiting for her to tell me what she needed. Well I helped her get up off the ground and then helped her walk up the hill. Rascal was totally calm by this time. He knew that we did a major no no to our mommy. So mom has been sleeping and resting up since we had a busy day on tuesday and the fall on wednesday.

Well it is just about time to tuck my mommy in for the night.

Whiskey had a quiet day today. He is taking his medicine just like he should.

Today was basically another quiet day fur me. After our morning walk my mommy fell right back to sleep. She did wake up before it was time for the afternoon walk. She always does. She's a good girl! (BOL) Now in our backyard is my human brother's old basketball hoop thingy laying on it's side. So from time to time mommy has me jump over the bar. Today I decided to try going under it fur a change. So now I can go both over and under it. It was so much FUN! Then I decided to play fecth with a pine cone. I was bouncing around having a whole bunch of fun. Even rolled around in the grass. Ya know I need to leave my scent behind to let all the other neighborhood critters know that's it my back yard. I know my mommy likes to make sure on the days that we do not go anywhere that I get to do things like this. Plus we also worked on me picking up different things today.

A Handy Sandy Diary

Rello Everyfur,

My mommy is starting to feel better from that fall she had the other day. Sweet Whiskey is still hanging in there right now. We are just taking it one day at a time. Since his meds are keeping him comfy.

Mommy has kept up with playing with my in the backyard. I am having a funtastic time jumping over and going under the bar. The newest photo on my page was taken yesterday. My daddy was on his way to the backyard to watch me go over and under the bar. I was in a sit stay when I heard him coming long before mommy did. That is when she took the photo of me. She can be real sneaky when taking photos & videos of me. I need to figure our were the lastest video of me is so I can share it with all of you furs. Now today after playing in the backyard I was with my mommy while she used the weed whacker and the lawn mower. Both of these things are pretty darn LOUD! Now I do like the way the grass smells after it is cut. It feels really great to roll around on freshly cut grass.

Handy Sandy had a very busy Tuesday

I just wanted to let everyfur know that sweet Whiskey is resting comfortably. He has been explaining to be that he will be crossing over the bridge soon and that he will be my angel brudder then. He is such a wonderful brudder. I ruv the lil guy very much.

On Tuesday my mommy and me took my rauntie Tara to see the ortho doctor. You see rauntie had one dozzy of a fall about 1 week ago and really hurt her paw very badly. When the ortho doctor saw rauntie he ended up putting her paw in a removable cast thingy for it. This is to protect her wounded paw. After the doctor visit was over we went to costco to do some shopping. Rauntie rode in the only riding cart available and I helped my mommy keep her balance while we walked together in the store. When we was done shopping mommy and rauntie stopped to eat something there before we left. Mommy and me stayed at the table while rauntie got the food. While they were eating I decided that rauntie's paw needed more protection while it was under the table so I rested my head on it. When mommy peeked under the table to see how I was doing she smiled at me and whipped out the camera to take a photo. This is one of the new photos I put on my page. Now after they were done eating we went off to this other place. After we was done there mommy put the key in the car and the car made no noise. RUT RO! She got back out of the car to find someone who had what she called jumper cables. Now I know what it looks like when I jump and these things sure didn't like that at all. BUT it did help make the car make noise again so we were able to go on our way again. I have to admit my mommy was pretty calm in taking care of making the car work again. I am very proud of her. Now we were off to walmart. Now walmart had a cart for mommy and for rauntie to use. Now each of them shopped separately. I kept a lookout for my rauntie. When I saw her I helped mommy's cart move faster to I could get to rauntie. I had to make sure she was ok, ya know. Now I got on mommy cart in front of her since rauntie was next to us so I could say hi to her. After I said my rello, my mommy gave me a great big hug. Guess what this time rauntie took the photo. Now I finally have a decent photo of me with my mommy. This is the other photo I added to my page. After walmart we were off to take rauntie home. By this time in the day a girl needed to go potty. I was so glad when we got to rauntie's house so I could go. Now it seems that it was what one would say had a very potent aroma. What made me BOL most was when my cuz Jenni came out onto the porch to greet us all she kept sneezing and making funny faces. She told me that I was a stinker! So did the humans (BOL) Once rauntie was all settled in mommy and me headed home.

Dogster Friends

As you all know I have been writting updates on Whiskey in his diary for him. I do have to say on my own behalf that all of you here on Dogster are truly wonderfully kind. You have been keeping my brudder in your prayers that he crosses over peacefully. But, you also are being so supportive to my whole family. You all are awesome. Your support is helping be strong to help my family through this. Thank you all from the bottom of my pup heart.

Handy Sandy Day was a Busy One

Today was a busy one for me. My had to see the dentist again. At least this time she didnt have any teeth pulled out of her head. Before we got to the dentist we was headed to pick up rauntie Tara. When mom got a message on her phone. Since she couldn't read it she called rauntie up. That when she found out the my rauntie was very sick. We just saw her last night and she was fine. Me don't like that bug that is attacking my rauntie at all! I know my cuz Jenni and Maggie are trying their pup best to watch over her. Well once mom found out that rauntie couldn't come to the dentist with us. (You see she does training with me while mommy is with the dentist.) She called up daddy and asked him to come with us to the dentist. Boy did she gave him a bunch of instructions on what to do with me. When they called my mommy back to see the dentist I had to stay with daddy. I did see how much I could get away with since it was my daddy. You know how daddys can be with their lil girls. ;-) He didn't let me cry for mommy as much as I thought I could get away with. He really listened to what mommy told him to do with me. (drats) When mommy was done at the dentist we headed off to target to do a lil shopping. Then we got back in the car. I thought for sure we was going home but I knew I was wrong when we past the turn that we take to go home. We ended up dropping daddy off at one place while mommy and me went to another. Then when we was done we went back to get daddy. Then mommy told me that we was going home. I thought to myself FINALLY. By this time all I wanted to do was get home to see how Rascal was doing. He told me about what he did while we was gone during our walk mommy took us on.

Now I would like to thank everyfur so sending so many p-mails and giving so many rosettes to my sweet angel brudder. First thank you all for being there for my family and me. Second give us some time to answers all the p-mails. We ruv all of you.

Rello Furends

Rello Everyfur,

Things have been pretty quiet here the past two days. My mommy really has been in need of rest. I am doing my best to make sure she gets it. Even if it means laying on her blankey so she cant get out of bed (teehee). I let her up for later in the day walks. Rascal and me get daddy to do the morning walk with us instead. We have finally finished reading all of your wonderful thoughtful p-mails to Whiskey and us. There have been times when she reads something and next I notice there is a tear in her eye. Either me or Rascy are with her. I Would like to think that I am helping Rascy cope when I get him to play with me.
BTW, All of you Dogster furs rock!!!

Well mommy & me finally went shopping & we took daddy wiff us. We had to run two errands before shopping. Out first one was to pick up medicines fur my daddy. I really ruv those drive up windows. Especially the ones where I can stare at the person helping my mommy. If I look just the right way at the person I usually get another treat out of them. They can not resist the Sandy stare (BOL). After that we went to pick something up elsewhere. Then we were off to go shopping. There are some days that mommy does purtty okay and others she doesn't. Well today was one of the those days I was very glad I was wiff her. Since we are a team I am able to help her keep her balance whenever she needs me to. Today she really needed me for her balance. I am always so glad when I can help my mommy in any way that I can. When we came home all I heard as me and mommy approached the house was daddy saying Rascal, Rascal, Rascal. When I go into the house I got to see the mess my brudder had made while he was being a rascally Rascal. I helped my pawrents clean up as much as I could. I ruv my job as my mommy's service dog very much!

handy Sandy update about my mommy

Sorry that I didn't tell you all beforehand that my mommy was going to have surgury on her right thumb. This was done very early on wednesday morning. This is the furst chance that I have gotten to use my mommy's computer. I am not allowedto use it when she is sleeping. I stayed home with daddy and Rascal while rauntie Tara & runcle Allan came to take mommy to get the surgurgy she needed to fix her trigger finger thumb. It was done at what they call the out patient place for this kind of stuff. All I know is her paw is all wrapped up and it hurts her. Right now she can not really use her right paw. I will be taking her back to thr doctor in about two weeks to get the bandage off and stitches removed from her paw.

Well I need to go tuck her into bed now and get some shuteye myself. I have been helping her around the house as much as I can.

Handy Sandy News

I am reporting in on how my mommy's paw is doing. Quoting my mommy she said that it still hurts but not as bad as day one. YAY, waggle of joy on my part. One of the photos I addded was of me watching over mommy's paw even as I slept. I have been resting very close to her since she had the surgury. Now the other photo was taken while mommy and me were waiting in the exam room of the gastro doctor. I was listening to hear his voice and waiting to alert mommy that he was going to be entering the exam room soon. I will call the gastro doctor Dr.J for short, ok got it ... good. Now Dr.J really ruvs dogs! He is always happpy to see me. Dr.J even remembers the very furst time we met. Now this was back when I was much younger and in training to be a service dog. Back then I was learning to be quiet while mommy and me waited in the exam room. Back then he didn't know who had a SD with them. Every so often while he was with another patient he would hear me talk to mommy. Each time he heard me he just wanted to finish up so he could me who was making the sounds. When he walked into the room to see mommy he spotted me and said your the one i have been listening to. Then he asked mommy all about me. She then introduced us and we have been pals even since. I think mommy sneaks him a treat to give me for when he says hi to me.
