A Handy Sandy Report

Rello Everyfur,

Today was a pretty busy day for my mommy and me. Mommy had to go see her doctor. He scratched my belly while I was laying on the floor. It felt really nice when he did that. My mommy had a few things to tell him. So while they were talking I was laying on the floor listening to everything. This way I made sure mommy didn't leave anything out. She did write something on a piece of paper which she kept dropping. Well can you guess who kept picking it up? Yup, you guess it me. After mommy was done talking to him she had to go get bloodwork done. Boy, am I glad that it was her arm and not my leg. (phew) We did get ti visit with Jenni and her mommy for a little while. I had fun playing while I was there visiting. After our visit was done there we went shopping at walmart. The people in there were really nice. The greeter lady went and found a riding cart for my mommy to use. Then we were moving. Now that is the way I like it. I got a really good workout walking around the store today.
After we got home we found out that Rascal was a rascally boy again (BOL). Now our daddy returned his bowl to it's proper place. Now I will tell you I did enjoy the food that fell out of his bowl onto the floor. It was yummy in my tummy.

Rello Everyfur,

All has been pretty quiet for me since my mommy was having some down time. Even then she keeps teaching me the names of the things that I pick up for her. This evening I finally got to show her that I can help her when she does laundry. First off she needs me for step help. You see the washing machine is in the basement. I always make sure that she keeps her balance on the stairs. Rascal told me that I have to alert mommy a little bit better when she reaches the bottom of the stairs. My mommy goes down stairs backwards. Since it is much easier for her to do so. Rascal used to help her before I got old enough to take over the job. So every so often he throws his two cents in. Mommy has been having problems getting the things that have been washed out of the dryer thingy. She has been taking with me that I was going to be helping her get stuff out of the dryer. I've been wondering when I would get a chance to try this out. I really enjoy helping and learning new things to do to help my mommy. Well tonight I helped her. All she did was use the laser pointer we have to show me that it was okay to put my head inside of the dryer. She was so very happy that I understood everything she was telling me to do. When she would name the item I would stick my head in the dryer and get it. It was interesting seeing the inside of the dryer. I liked it best when I took my vest out of the dryer. It smells all nice and looks so clean now. I am so glad that I was able to help mommy as much as I did this evening.

A Handy Sandy Day

Rello Everyfur,

Today mommy and me took daddy to his doctor's appointment. I have been to this office many a time before. One of my favorite things in the wating area is a BIG water bottle that gives water into cone shaped cups. Mommy always gets me a drink of water. Those cone cups sure do not hold much water in them. I usually drink over the trash can that way I do not get the floor wet. The people in the waiting area were all very nice. There was this one man that was very anxious about something that was going to be done to him. He asked mommy if it was ok to say hello to me. I am so glad she said yes to him. Once he started petting me I felt him calm down a tiny bit. Today the three of us got to meet a new P.A. She is a nice lady. I liked the way she said rello to me.
After we were done at there we went shopping. It felt really good to be out of the house working. I like it when I can help my mommy very much. Sometimes my mommy takes the time to talk with children about service dogs. Two of the children we met today knew to ask beforehand if they could say rello to me. Sometimes mommy does let children say rello to me. Today was one of them. These girls were very interested in what kinds of things that I do to help my mommy. Too bad some children do not know not to just run up to me without asking first. My mommy still will take the time to teach them that they shouldn't do this. I hope that they listen to what they have been told. This way the next time they see a service dog working they will know how to act.

Handy Sandy had a Very Busy Day

Rello Everyfur,

Well today was a very long and busy day for me and my mom. First off we went to Jenni's home to meet her new sister Maggie. Maggie is a shy sweet cute girl. I am looking forward to getting to know her better. We also went there to get rauntie Tara. Just want to remind you that rauntie is also my trainer. After our morning visit was over rauntie, mommy and me headed off to the dentist. My mommy ended up having three teeth pulled. Glad I sat in the waiting room with rauntie. Just the thought of it makes my mouth hurt.

Now when mommy was done with the dentist we stopped by my house so rauntie could visit with Whiskey. She wanted to stop by to say good-bye to my brudder. You see it is just a matter of time now before he crosses over the rainbow bridge. When we stopped at the house my human brudder stopped by also. He stopped by to get his birthday card and pawsent we had for him. Plus he also said his final good-bye to his lil brudder.

We then took rauntie home. On the way home we came across a downed power line. It looked like a semi-truck ran into the pole. So we had to backtrack so we could take another route to get rauntie home. When we got rauntie home mommy and me made a pit stop before we headed back home. Now the trip home started off nice a smooth that is until the highway went from three lanes to one. So mommy called rauntie and asked for an alternate route. Well we got to the alternate route only to run into that downed power line again. So mommy followed some cars to find a way around it on the side streeets. First she ended up on a dead end road. She turned the car around and somehow got to the road we needed. If you ask her how she did it she will tell you she has no clue how she ended up on the correct road. All I know is we where heading home.

Right now Whiskey is sleeping but I do not know if my brudder will make it through the night.

Rello Everyfur,

I just finished helping my brudder Whiskey write a diary. My family and I would like to thank all of you for the support that you are giving us right now.

Today I took my mommy to the orthopedist. He told he the only way to fix her thumb is with surgery. Which she will have in the beginning of October. After the visit to the doctor we went to a brand new grocery store. Let me tell you this place is BIG! I got one heck of a workout. I think we went up and down just about every aisle in the store. Everyone we met inside of the store was very nice. Mommy took the time to talk with some children from time to time about service dogs. It seems that some of the kids cartoons are telling them about service dogs. I think that is so fantastic that this is being done. While mommy was explaining some of the things I do for her. She would drop her hat and I would pick it up and give it to her. All the kids thought that this was so cool. To me it is something I just do to help my mommy. Now when we were finished shopping I thought that we were all done. I was wrong. We stopped by target just for a few items that we were not able to get from the grocery store. Boy was I glad that was our last stop. I am so worn out from all the walking that I did today.

Well my brudder Whiskey is sleeping right now and I am going to be doing the same shortly.

Update on my brudder and more

Rello Everyfur,

My sweet brudder Whiskey is still haning in there. He really apreciates all the kind notes you all have sent to him. We all think that all of our dogster friends are wonderful.

Now I wanted to tell you all about the lastest photo I added to my page. You can see me looking under a partition. Well you see this was taken on tues when I was at the dentist with my mommy and rauntie Tara. After mommy was done with the dentist we went off to the bathroom. I was in the stall with my mommy. When I realized that rauntie Tara was in the one right next to us. I poked my head under to make sure she was ok in there and she was. Now this photo was taken of me after mommy and me were no longer in the stall. I was wondering where my rauntie was. So I peeked under the door and checked that she was still there. She was and was totally ok. (phew) I didn't realize that I was going to have my photo taken though (BOL).

The past two days I have been resting around the house with my family. We are all very concerned about sweet Whiskey. I think Rascal is having a hard time right now. My brudders have been together for the past 12 yrs. Which is why I think Rascal is kinda blue.

Rello Everyfur,

Today I did something very nice for my brudder Whiskey. I went into the kitchen to check on him. Glad I went in there when I did because he was having trouble getting up. So I helped him by just standing there so he could lean on me as he was getting up. I was being a service dog for him. His time to cross over the Rainbow Bridge is coming very soon.

Rello Everyfur,

Whiskey has made it through another day. We have decided to wait until thursday to take Whiskey to the vet. My mommy has been in touch with the vet and the decision was made to wait just a couple of more days. I know my pawrents would prefer it if he could cross over the Rainbow bridge on his own at home totally surrounded with love. The vet agreed and had given us something to give him to make sure he is not in any pain. Rascal & me can tell he will be crossing over the Rainbow Bridge real soon. Poor Rascal is walking around the house with such a sad look on his face. He and Whiskey have been buddies for the past 12 yrs. I will help Rascal and my furmily get through all of this. I ruv them all so very much.

I would also like to thank all of you for keeping Whiskey and my furmily in your prayers and thoughts. Our Dogster pals are great!

Rello Everyfur,

Furst off Whiskey had a okay kind of day so Rascal told me. You see I was away from home most of the day today.
We left early to pick up rauntie Tara. Once we got her we were off to the dentist. Mommy had some strings removed from her mouth. What Rascal? OH! they were stiches. I guess the string in her mouth were called stitches. Hmmm, I thought when you stitched something you were making clothing. Gee, I am learning new things all of the time. After the dentist it seemed like we did a lot of driving. At least it felt that way to me. We made a stop at the bank and I made my usual two biscuit withdrawal. Not sure what my mommy did. From there we made a brief stop home to pick up my daddy. After we picked up daddy we stopped and got gas for the car, then stopped at walmart so we could get food for us pups and then we were off to rautie's house. We were taking daddy to meet Jenni's new sister Maggie. Maggie is one shy girl. It took her a little while to warm up to my daddy. Then she enjoyed the belly rubs he gave her. She and I are still in the process of getting to know each other. It is very similar to when I furst met Jenni. Now Jenni and I are great pals. I ruv my cuz and I can't wait for me and Maggie to get to know each other better. She and I are the same age. I can't wait for us to play together. We will have so much fun. When my pawrents and I were getting ready to leave I got to sniff Maggie. Rauntie was very happy with how nice I was to Maggie. After that my pawrents and me headed on home. Rascal was VERY happy to see us when we got home. Well both Rascal and Whiskey are sleeping. I think it is time for this girl to go to bed. I am all worn out from my busy day.
