note: Buddy had been at at least 2 other pounds, but they were both on military property. (His owners think he was one of the canine victoms of a solder leaving for Iraq or somewhere else where they could not take him.) His name was max before his current owners re-named him. He was picked up from the Tacoma Humane Society (Washington) on the fifteenth of december, 2005. He had a sensative stomach (diarrhea), and a rash on his throat when his owners adopted him.

I was at a pound. There were two other dogs in my kennel and I was asleep on a puppy the same age as me (6 months old). The other dog in the kennel was mean. He snapped and barked and tryed to fight me whenever I attempted to get closer to the cold bars that separated us from the humans. Once, he attacked me so viciously that a staff member had to remove him! Once he was gone, me and my puppy friend waited at the bars. A girl, who later became one of my owners, stopped by the cage several times, and finally her father came, and they brought with them a staff member. Just as the mean dog before me, I was removed from my kennel, but instead taken into a room with the girl and her father. I tryed my hardest to please them; somehow I knew that was what I was supposed to do. After a little bit, I was taken out and put back into my kennel. The girl told me she would be back, and that she would adopt me.

That same day, but much later, the two humans arrived again but brought the girl's mother with them. Again, I went into the room with them, and again I tryed to please them. They loved me! That evening, in that room, they decided to name me Buddy. I was adopted!
