Me and Mommy walked in the MS walk

Today me and mommy woke up early and got ready to go it was raining outside but we decided to go anyways we waited for my mommies aunt and uncle to get there and their 2 dogs who are my buddies Happy and Eli then we left. It took us a long time to get there or at least I thought it took us a while! We were the last ones to get there so we signed up and started walking it was really fun cause it was on a trail right next to a river me and Happy wanted to go play in it but they wouldn't let us and told us we would get to cold we got to a playground with lots of people me my mommy her uncle and her brothers kept walking. But her mommy and aunt and little sister stayed there we kept walking for a long time until we reached the end of the trail then we figured that was the turn around spot so we would head back when we finally got back to where her mommy and everyone was they told us that we had gone to far! 3 miles to far! and that the turn around spot was right there so they all started laughing then we headed back. When we finally got back to the finnish no one was there BOL. We had taken so long that only two people were left and they were packing the last of the boxes in the car. They told us they were sorry cause they forgot to mark the turn around but mommy said it was okay because we had a lot of fun and got ride of a lot of energy walking the extra couple of miles! In all we were able to raise $250 in donations thank you to everybody who donated! I can't wait until we get to go again next year!!

Me and Mommy are Raising Money for the MS Walk

Tomorrow is the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Walk in our area we are going to participate not only because we want to help the cause but also because mommy's Aunt has Multiple Sclerosis she is still very young (in her mid 20's) and she just had her first baby. Sometimes she is effected by it so badly she has to be in the hospital. There is no cure for the disease that is why we are doing the walk, because we want to help fund the research to find a cure. For those of you who don't know what Multiple Sclerosis is this here is some information on it

I am so excited that I get to walk with mommy it will be so much fun! She also said that outback steak house might be sponsoring there Yummy! We have been walking around our neighborhood all day and have gotten lots of donations! For any of you kind doggies out there who would like to donate I'll put a link at the bottom, the picture on there is of my mommies mommy. All donations will go strait to the National MS Society. Hiking and Fun at the Park!

Yesterday mommy woke up really early and told me we were going some where special we went outside while her mommy was getting her sister ready for school and played with my tennis ball. Then we got in the car and drove her sister to school. After that we started driving towards to mountains and pulled up next to a little dirt trail. I got really excited cause this meant mommy was taking me hiking! I jumped out of the car and walked over to the trail mommy let me off my leash and I walked right beside her (because she doesn't like it when I go ahead of her since I could get bit by a rattle snake what ever that is...) We walked into the canyon then we were by a stream and mommy said I could play in it so I jumped in and it was really cold!! Mommy told me it was because of the winter run off when all the snow melts so I decided to stay on the trail with her the rest of the way up. We hiked for about an hour then we got to a place were we had to crawl across the stream over a log so I sat and waited as mommy went over then went over myself cause I didn't want to go in the cold water again after that we kept hiking up for a little while until we got to a place where everything was still covered in snow then mommy told me it was time to head back down I was sad but very happy that mommy took me hiking it was really fun!

Then later after all the other kids were out of school mommy took me over to the school to play with my new Frisbee and when we got there we saw that they were having soccer practice so my mommy told me to leave it and that we would play on the other field (Although I would have enjoyed playing some soccer...) When we got to the other field one of my mommy's neighbors came up to us she is really nice and always likes to play with me. So mommy let her throw my Frisbee for me and I showed off a few of my new tricks.

After I had played Frisbee for a little while we went over to the playground and I got to play with the nice girls cousins and a little boy who really liked me he was nice but liked to pull my tail but that's okay cause mommy taught me that little babies don't know better and to get up and walk away instead of getting mad at them. I showed them how I went down the slide and played with them until I was really tired then mommy told me it was time to go home I didn't really want to leave but then when she said it was dinner time I was happy to!

I am the Champion my Friends!

Today me and mommy were going to go over to the school to play Frisbee and we couldn't find my Frisbee!! I was very upset so mommy told me we would go over to PetSmart and she would by me some more Frisbee's cause all of my other ones were broken. When we got there a lady that worked there walked up to my mommy and gave her a goodie bag I sniffed it and there were treats inside!! She also told my mommy that today was PetSmart's Birthday and they were taking pictures and playing games!! So me and mommy went and got our picture taken together which was fun I had to sit there for a while though cause their camera was having problems.

When we went to go get our picture they were playing musical "Sit" where dogs and their owners would walk around in a circle and the dog would have to sit when the music stopped, and the last dog who sat got eliminated. My mommy said that it looked like fun and we should do it cause she knew I could win and cause it could give me some more practice at preforming in public (not that I need any!). So we got my picture and put it in the cart then we got in line. We walked around and the first few times I did it just right then the song ended and mommy didn't know whether or not I should sit and we got eliminated. I was sad but mommy said their was another round after this one and that we would try again. So we walked around the store and looked at toys until they called us back for another round on the speaker. So we went back and tried again and I won first place!! We won $20 worth of free stuff. Then they told us since we won we could participate again in the winners round for the grand prize so we said for sure we would do that.

After another 15 minutes and another announcement on the speaker we went back again this time I was a little nervous cause I wasn't just competing against armatures this time these guys were big league doggies just like me. Mommy patted me on the head and told me I was a good girl and that I could do it! Then the man who was at the radio said this time we would only go around once and who ever sat first would be the winner. He started the music and I kept my eyes on mommy the whole way he stopped the music real fast and mommy stopped I sat down before she even asked me to and then he said "Our winner is the Shepherd!" Mommy was so happy she gave me a big hug and then we went over and got another $30 worth of cool stuff. Then mommy and lots of other people started feeding me tons of treats and telling me what a good girl I was! Then mommy bought me 10 Frisbees!! I couldn't belive it 10 Frisbees I had never had so many in my life! Then we went home and played Frisbee until it got dark and I couldn't see what I was catching anymore.

Nikkia VS. Bee

Today was the first cool day in weeks and me and my mommy decided to take advantage of it! We walked 1 1/2 miles down to Green way park and through half of it on the trails I was off leash. Then I heard something... it was a sort of buzzing noise coming from a tree a few feet away and I was curious as to what it was and decided to go investigate. as I neared the tree the sound grew louder and there were these little flying creatures flying from the hole in the trunk. Something in there smelt really yummy and sweet I leaned in further to see what it was and the little creatures I now know as bee's started getting angry and chasing me and my mommy after we were a little ways away and we didn't hear them any more we stopped my eye hurt so I went over to my mommy for her to inspect it and it turns out one of the little buggers had stung me! On the side of the eye to we started walking again and my mommy was sort of limping she took of her shoe and found that she had a blister. While we were running from the bees we had to run through a little stream to get away from them and it had soaked her shoes and given her a blister. So then she had to walk home without shoes and I had to walk home with a swollen eye. It was a long walk it only took us 45 minutes to get to the park but it took us 1 1/2 hours to get home when we got home my mommy treated my sting and her blister then we took a nap because we were exhausted!

Nice and Cozy

This morning my mommy left to go shopping I really wanted to go but she told me no to stay home because I wasn't allowed in the stores. I gave her my puppy eyes which always seem to work but once again she said no and that if I was a good girl she'd bring me home a treat. She was gone a really long time and I was worried she wasn't coming back! But when she came home she had a ton of stuff most of it people food but then she brought in something for me! It was a yummy smelling ceader bed and a tasty knuckle bone! I wish she brought home stuff like this for me every time she left without me!

Bark in the Park

Today my mommy took me to the annual "Bark in the Park" which was located just a few blocks from our house. I had a lot of fun we entered a few contests and I made tons of new acquaintances! There were so many yummy smells and I was overloaded with dog treats because at every booth we stopped at they loved me so much they couldn't help but to open up one of those packages and give me a sample! My mommy also took me over to meet a flyball team and had me tested to see if I would do good in the sport and to both of our suprize I passed with a B+ and they said that with a few weeks of training that I would be perfect for competitions! We went back to see if we won anything from the drawings and guess who I met! Kenji off of the "Greatest American Dog"! While her mommy and my mommy were looking at some silent auction items we were able to exchange a quick hello I think it was great of them to come down and help the cause and to help raise money for the shelters in our area. After seeing we had not won any of the items we decided it was time to go home. After we got home my mommy cut up some card board boxes and made some flyball hurdles out of them with a few treats and some guidance I was able to understand that she wanted me to jump the hurdles grab the ball at the other end and run back over the hurdles. I still need a little practice but I am sure here in a few days I will be doing it like a pro then maybe I can start competing in the big leauge after I learn the swimmers turn on the box!
