Likes:
Playing with her pit bull friends and other doggie pals, getting attention from everyone, watching out the window, walks, sniffing around in tall grass, snuggling in bed or on the couch, all food, and space heaters.
Pet-Peeves:
Not getting to go everywhere with us, bath time, ear and teeth cleaning, nail clipping, getting wet, the crate, sneaky waves at the beach that get her while she's sniffing.
Favorite Toy:
Kongs with peanut butter and banana, emaciated squeeky toys, shredded plush toys, rope toys, dirty pieces of rawhide that she carries around.
Favorite Food:
Raw meat and bones, peanut butter, and anything liver! She also really likes banana, cooked broccoli, and cheese!!
Favorite Walk:
Anywhere and everywhere that there are things to sniff or where she can be off leash, but especially Tryon Creek Park, hiking at Mt. Hood, and the beach!
Best Tricks:
Lucy's not one for many tricks. She will sit, come (sometimes, due to her beagly selective hearing), catch treats, "wait" for her dinner, & "find daddy". The best trick would be to teach her not to jump up on people, but we're still working on that.
Arrival Story:
After many months of asking, "Can we get a dog today?" the day finally came and we decided on a beagle. I picked Lucy from a pile of wonderful pups at Thundermountain Beagles in Toledo, WA. We've been back to visit and Lucy got to play with her mom and grandma!
Bio:
Everywhere we go people think Lucy is a puppy because she's so small, but she doesn't mind because she gets more attention and gets away with jumping up on people. (Her other name is "OFF!") She loves to play with other dogs, especially her pit bull friend Cyrus, and to visit and sniff every single person and dog that comes within her range. She is spunky and feisty, and can hold her own with larger dogs. Her favorite times are off-leash at the park, at the beach or on a hike, especially if there are other dogs to run and play with and good things to sniff. When she isn't playing she enjoys napping or watching out the front window from her perch on the back of the couch. She sends out a rousing "woof" to all her current and future pup pals and fellow Dogsters!!!

Today I found out that the neighbor's beagle, Dobie, died recently. This is very sad and I miss him. He was the only other beagle who lived on my street. He died very suddenly, which makes me want to spend as much time as possible every day with my human and pup pals. Here's wishing for an endless supply of tennis balls up there in doggie heaven for Dobie.

This week we went to the beach - check out the new photos!! I had SO much fun chasing seagulls and sniffing around. But now I'm super tired and need to nap all day to recover. Zzzzzzzzzz.......

It's been an awfully long time since mom let me update my diary. Something about being busy with school. I wish all that school and studying stuff were gone gone gone so mom could nap with me all day at home, or we could go to the dog park, or for a hike, or just hang out together.
Other than mom being busy, life's been great. I even spent a couple days with Cyrus and her family and that was the best! Those dogs wear me out! Today, I chased a neighbor cat around my back yard until it jumped the fence - darn it!
I'd best get back to napping on the couch. After all, it is what I do best.
