Arrival Story:
We met Pookie at the shelter where we volunteer. She was very sick and I wanted to take her to the vet. We took her and we were told she had liver cancer and would probably only live about a month. We went back to the shelter and asked if we could take her home. They let us and she lived a good happy nine months with us. She loved her walks and would actually run to the door when I came home from work and greet me. We didn't let her suffer when her time came. She let us know in her own way she was ready to go. We miss her very much
