Quick Bio:
-mutt-dog rescue

Likes:
Cuddling, jumping, stretching, running at the dog park, trying to chase squirrels (but never catching them), looking out the window, good sniffs, shredding used napkins, throwing my flippy chips into the air, and stealing your spot on the couch

Pet-Peeves:
When mom and dad leave, having to always wear a harness on walkies, getting rained on

Favorite Toy:
Flippy chips, loofa dogs, the Icube balls, and any plush squeaky toy

Favorite Food:
Whatever mom and dad are eating, except vegetables. Bacon, lamb treats, meat blast chewies, and Blue Buffalo Wilderness food. I don't really like the life bits, though, I spit those on the floor until I'm really hungry.

Favorite Walk:
Wherever we go--there are always good sniffs! Although any trip to the dog park is a good trip

Best Tricks:
Sit up, shake, high five, throwing things, jumping (high!) and catching my plush toys. I can catch treats, too! Also, now I can roll over and do 'Circus Dog'!

Arrival Story:
We found her at the Animal House Shelter in Huntley, IL. We had seen about 15 dogs, and didn't plan on seeing her because she looked so big in the picture (and we have a condo). Then we were told that she was only about 20 pounds. Hmmm--let's check her out. She came out all smiles, tail wagging, and ran right up to Steve, popped into his lap and gave him a hug. How could we refuse?

Bio:
Daphne was a stray down south. We'd love to know her background. We're pretty sure she's part IG and part Jack Russell terrier, though we can't be 100% sure (because, um, she can't tell us). She has some scars on her head, legs and one big one on her back that doesn't grow hair. We think maybe she had a scuffle with an animal, or perhaps got caught in a fence escaping from something. We don't think she was abused--she loves everything and everyone! Who wouldn't love her?

Forums Motto:
Everybody loves The Daph!

Bad girl...

November 9th 2007 11:29 pm   [link to this entry]

So mom and dad went out fur dinner the other night. I know when mom left I wasnt too happy about it, but I let it go.

Anyway, mom came home with a a bag. I know bags mean good stuff is inside.

So...last night mom ate what was in the bag. It smelled REALLY GOOD. She didn't finish it and left what was left on the plate on the coffee table. I didn't touch it, because we were cuddling on the couch all night, and then dad came home, and then, well, all of a sudden it was time for bed.

So, she probably figured I forgot about the plate on the table. I'm sure SHE forgot about it, because it was still there this morning, with the italian sausage, and snow peas, and cheezy sauce....I smelled it. All the way from the bedroom. And it still smelled GOOD.

So, when dad was in the shower, and mom was filing my food bowl, I ran into the living room (I'm QUICK) and ate it. Ate it FAST. Mom heard my tags jingling against the plate, but she's not as quick as me. She came running in, but the plate was already picked CLEAN. Almost as though she had just taken it out of the noisy-machine and put it on the table (that's what I was goin' for here, pups). But she's still too smart. She knew.

Anyway, she didn't give me too hard a time. She let my body do it for me. Let's just say today was not a very good day for the constitution. Ugh.

licks and woofs,
Daphne

Woof! I've been tagged! :)

October 18th 2007 7:21 pm   [link to this entry]

I've been tagged by Valentino!!

Here are the rules of this dogster game of "tag" in case you've never gotten a chance to play. When you are tagged, you post 7 random facts about yourself, compose a "new DIARY entry" along with the rules and put them in your own DIARY. Then you pick 7 furs (kitties or doggies) to tag but make sure you tell them... a simple p-mail will do fine, or a rosette to tell them, but you must let them know that they have been tagged. Post their names also in your DIARY.

Here goes:

1. I have a wonky left ear.
2. I stretch about 80 times a day.
3. I LOVE to sleep on mom's favorite pillow (and I'm so cute, she usually lets me).
4. I groan when anyone tries to move me from where I'm laying.
5. I get all excited when dad pulls dinner from the big people-food box (the fridge). I dance all around the kitchen, because that's where the GOOD food comes from.
6. I love to lick water off their ankles when my parents get out of the shower.
7. I am awesome at throwing things. Yesterday I hit mom in the head with a chewy--from across the room.

I tried to pick out 'only woofs', like myself. It's not easy, lemme tell ya! Hope I did ok!

So, I tag:

1. Mister Monte A. Sticks
2. Coco
3. Django
4. Harley
5. Sidney
6. Greyde
7. Baci-Blu

Clean bill of health!

October 10th 2007 10:00 pm   [link to this entry]

So I went to the vet yesterday...and it wasn't so bad! Well, parts were kind of awful...like when they took my temperature...ugh, why can't they do it like mom takes hers? But all in all, it was ok. Mom and dad were very pleased with me--I'm the best dog-at-the-vet ever! Even the vet said so. And, he complimented me over and over--he said how pretty I am, and how healthy I am, and that mom and dad must really take good care of me! I was blushing... Anyway, my lungs sound healthy and my heart sounds great too! The only thing they couldn't do was, um, check my poo. See, I get so embarassed when mom and dad walk me in there with a bag of my poopie in their hands, ugh--it's just not very ladylike. So, I kinda knew we were going there last night and so I didn't make any poop all day. Hey, I have standards to uphold!

licks and woofs,
Daphne
