Arrival Story:
Nikki was a street dog. She was roaming the streets of inner city Cleveland for weeks. My uncle had a restaurant and my cousin would leave food out for Nikki to eat. Eventually over time, Nikki trusted my cousin enough and he was able to take her home. My cousin had 2 other dogs and they would pick on Nik, so I adopted her. She lived a long happy life with me until a couple of years ago. I miss her every day.
Bio:
Best estimate from the vet when I adopted her was that Nikki was 6 years old, which means that Nikki lived to be 17 years old!!! Eventually cancer took over her belly and there wasn't any more that I could do so I wrapped her up in her favorite blue blanket and had to help her (along w/ the doc) over the rainbow bridge.
