Twiggy, Lily and Coco here! We snuck the laptop open and are posting our woofday wishes for Daisy in her diary. Don't let her know we're telling you this, but she's FIVE years old today! Oh my dog, she's almost as old as Twiggy! So, in honor of Daisy's woofday, we're posting a song about one of her boyfriends, Snoppy! Howl along, everyone...

SNOOPY AND THE RED BARON

The news had come out in the First World War
The bloody Red Baron was flying once more
The Allied command ignored all of its men
And called on Snoopy to do it again.

Twas the night before Christmas, 40 below
When Snoopy went up in search of his foe
He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought
With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ring out from the land
Asking peace of all the world
And good will to man

The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight
Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know
Or was it the bells from the village below.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"

The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

Happy woofday, Daisy Belle! We love you lots!

Mom's had my pic with the LSU bandana on her profile page on Facebook since football season began. And it's worked just fine, except for that one Saturday in October where the Tigers lost to Tebow University. But, last weekend Rescue Dogs put Lily's pic as their profile pic of the month, and mom took my pic off her page and put Lily's pic there! No fair!! Come on, mom, you are messing with the football juju now. If LSU looses to Bammer this weekend, it's YOUR fault this time!

Oh, yeah, congrats to Lily for being chosen as the profile pic for the month of November. Come on, mom - she's got her pic on their page. Why can't we have my pic on our page?? Really.

I’ve got a big butt, and I cannot lie
I block the sun out when I walk by.
Doc Ashley say’s I’m fat,
If I don’t lose weight, then I could die.

So, now Mom’s cooking all my food
Some of it is quite good.
A diet should be a crime
Because I’m hungry all the time!

Why can’t they just embrace my curves?
They really have some nerve.
I’m started to get worried
Next, they’ll have me walking round the hood.

We just got electricity and mom will update my diary tomorrow. But, we wanted all of our pups and peeps to know we're okay. Lot's of cleaning up to do, but we were very, very blessed. I kept a journal everyday and mom will put them in my diary soon. We're going to bed and enjoy sleeping with the a/c on! Mom hasn't slept since last Friday, so we're hoping she can get some sleep tonight!

Thanks for all of your prayers and please continue praying for the other pups and peeps who have yet to get electricity. The electric grid was 95% gone after Gustav came through. And, while there was no one to rescue on the roofs, it was pretty intense for a while there.

Good night, everyone! Daisy Belle

So, now what?

Mom's been packing since 2:30 this morning, and Pops came over this morning and helped her secure all the outside stuff. Now, we're watching the hurricane coverage on TV and I'm bored! Mom took down the gates to the back yard because they would blow lots in the wind and probably break, so she wouldn't let us go outside. The gates are 8 ft wide each, so they're pretty big. Now that the weather dude says Gustav won't make land until tomorrow morning, we were just waiting and getting bored. Mom finally put some tempory gates up and let us go outside on the porch. There's nothing to play with outside! The sun is shining and there's a little breeze. Hard to believe that a storm is coming. I'm glad we live here where we have enough warning to get out of harm's way. But, the waiting is hard. Mom says she wants to take a nap, then starts doing stuff again. She filled up a lot of containers with water and put them in the freezer. She said it's so when the electricity goes out, our food in the freezer will still be cold. Good thinking, mom! Please make sure my food is okay! We're waiting for the evening news to tell us where Gustav is and then if he's going to be here before noon tomorrow, we're going to go to Granny's tonight. If he won't be here until noon or after, then we'll spend the night in our beds and go to Granny's in the morning. I don't like bad weather, so I hope we get to Granny's before it gets too bad.

Granny doesn't have the internet, so once we leave we won't be able to check on our pals. I hope all our pals and peeps in the storm's path stay safe. We'll keep you in our prayers, and when we can get back we'll check in on you.

Mom just opened her email and I'm in the Daily Diary Pick!!! Woohhooo!! Everyone has been in it but me - thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing me! This is just so cool - now I'm speechless. Everyone knows I usually have wonderful things to say in my diary, but now I can't think of a thing. Wait! Mom has to give me a treat - that's the law!! Cool! And, it better not be just some on Mother Hubbard treat, either. I want an extra special, no one has had it before, treat. I'll let you know what I get, dogs!

Well, we're counting down - really mom's been counting down for a while, but with everything else going on, she hasn't really done anything about it. Kickoff is next Saturday, so it's time to put it in gear, mom! Of course, I have my LSU scarf already, but she has to make some for the other girls. And, she's going to make one for our friend, Bella. She's a yellow lab whose mom works with our mom. Bella's a sweet dog - she sends us cards all the time! Halloween, Christmas, Easter - we get a card from Bella. And,mom buys her treats when we go to the pet store. You should see the pet store peeps eyes when we put the treats for Bella on the counter! Our pet store has these boxes of Old Mother Hubbard treats that you can scoop and get how much you want. We get Bella a HUGE bone cookie and the dog house, fire hydrant and cat liver cookies. They're too big for our small mouths, so mom always gets the small bites treats for us. When mom put that huge bone and the liver treats on the counter the first time, the pet store peep behind the counter looked at mom with shock on her face! She asked mom if she got a big dog or what! Mom then told her about Bella, and you could see the relief on the pet store peep's face - priceless!

So, anyway, mom needs to get the patio ready and get the LSU football flag up, and make scarves and get the grill cleaned and get tailgate food, and just so much to do and she only has a week! EEEK! We hope this season turns out as well as last season ;)!

Poor Rally & Sally

When mom was coming back from seeing Dr. Ashley with Coco this morning, the rescue in New Orleans called and said the foster lady who picked them up yesterday was bringing them back because they are a handful. Mom is so disappointed in the foster mom and the rescue and she's heartbroken for Rally and Sally. The rescue wanted mom to take them and foster them until they found a home, but with what Coco is going through right now, we can't. And things are getting sort of back to normal here. Except, we're all acting like we did when we first came here - Lily is running away, I'm trying to dig out under the fence, Coco is hiding under the bed. Mom is just so concerned about us. And, we constantly want attention now. I guess we just need to be reassured that mom loves us and we're still in our forever home. Fortunately for us, mom has no problem letting us know both!

She made more of those yummy yogurt and peanut butter treats last night! I had two today! Oh, and speaking of weight - when Coco saw Dr. Ashley this morning, mom found out she weighs 7 lbs! Welcome to my world, Coco Bug! Now mom says both Coco and I will be on a diet and as soon as they figure out what's wrong with Coco we're going to start walking again. Another dogster mom told mom about some stuff she can give me for the pain that won't mess me up, so mom's going to get that for me. See, she found out that the Metacam is really bad for us, so she threw the bottle away. Twiggy really hasn't needed it since she had all those bad teeth pulled, but my knees cause me pain pretty regularly. Mom's been adding yogurt and cottage cheese to my food, but none of that helps with the pain. Hopefully, this new stuff will.

Rally & Sally update

Mom talked to the vet's office where Rally and Sally are staying yesterday and today. They said they are cuddling both of them lots! I am so jealous, but they're in good hands.

Rally had his neutering done today and did well. The lady that spoke with mom today said Sally was probably going to have her surgery Thursday because it was going to be pretty involved and they wanted to make sure they had enough time to do everything. Poor Sally - she's going to feel so much better once they take care of those teeth.

A lady called mom about adopting them Saturday and mom sent her to Ms. Giselle. Ms. Giselle did a vet check and the lady didn't pass. Thank you Ms. Giselle for taking the time to make sure that Rally and Sally's new home will take care of them! We're keeping our paws crossed that they find a good home soon. They so deserve it.

Daisy's Big Adventure, by Daisy Belle Weaver

All week long mom has been saying that she was going to let me go with her to New Orleans when she dropped Rally and Sally off at the vet who will take care of them. Then, last night Aunt Brittany called mom (we LOVE Aunt Brittany!) and said she would go with mom to NO. Aunt Brittany mentioned something about mom being too upset to drive home - does she know our mom, or what! So, mom tells me last night that I'm going to stay home while she and Aunt Brittany go to the Big Easy. Well, dogs, I knew there was no way I was going to let those two go and have all the fun, so this morning while mom was bustling around getting all of Rally and Sally's stuff loaded in the car, I snuck inside my kennel! Mom has to put Sally in my kennel because she can't pick her up and it hurts both of them less if Sally is in the kennel. Well, when mom got ready to put Sally in the kennel, she didn't want to go in, and mom was shoving on Sally's behind trying to get her in enough to close the door! Sally didn't want to get in the kennel because we didn't become the best of friends while she was here, if you know what I mean. But, the Daisy Belle knows that sometimes you have to put up with dawgs you don't like in order to get what you want - big picture, you know! So, I didn't say a bark, and mom shut the door, picked up the kennel, put it on the back seat of the car, put the seat belt around it, got Rally and off we went! Mom stopped to fill the car up with gas, and Sally whined the whole time! I thought she was going to spoil my chances of going to New Orleans for a while there. And, when mom turned around and went back home because she forgot the scarf she made for Sally, I thought the gig was up, but she still didn't know I was in the kennel with Sally! (This is fun!!) I was so afraid mom would open the kennel to put Sally's scarf on her and discover me, I stayed quiet as a mouse! Thank dog, mom just got back in the car and we were off to pick up Aunt Brittany. Sally whined the whole way to Aunt Brittany's, too. So, mom decided she'd let Sally ride on the back seat after we picked up Aunt Brittany. She picked up the kennel and placed it in the back of the car, and when she opened the door - the look was priceless, dogs! There I was, smiling - right next to Sally in the kennel! It was too late for her to go all the way home so I got to go to New Orleans, dogs! Mom stopped at PetCo and got me a new leash and collar and a new toy and some Spot's Stew mineral powder. See, I KNEW I didn't want to miss out on a trip to the Big Easy. We dropped Rally and Sally off at the Magazine Street Animal Clinic for them to get the treatments they need. Mom cried lots but I was there to help her.

I was so disappointed we didn't get to go to Chiwawa-gaga, but it didn't open until noon, and Aunt Brittany had to get back home. And, mom said we couldn't go eat anywhere nice since I was there. Hey - Burger King is nice - for a dog! And, oh yeah, I got french fries!

Then after we dropped Aunt Brittany off, we went by Granny and Pops house and Mikayla and Cadence were there! I played with them while mom went to the car wash. By the time mom got back, I was worn out. So was she, cause when we got home we all took a big nap. I've spent the rest of the evening telling Lily and Coco about Daisy's Big Adventure! What a day, dogs!
