Arrival Story:
(Adopt 08 Contest) I adopted Bonnie in December from the Humane Society. When I got her home, she had a bad case of kennel cough. Once that was treated, we discovered she had stump pyometra. She went into surgery and it was corrected. Unfortunately, she was allergic to her sutures and had to go frequently to the vet to have her tummy cleaned out until the sutures dissolved. Now, she is doing great and still loves her vet:-) Her nickname, Sugar Booger, came from the fact that she was so very sweet, yet suffering from a bad case of kennel cough when I brought her home. What I thought was a dry coat, turned out to be a sample of her sugarboogers. After all the vet visits and surgery, I was thankful she was better and that I had adopted her. I don't know if everything would've have been caught and treated if I didn't adopt her that day and I can't remember what life was like without her. She is so precious to me.

Bio:
Bonnie just loves everyone, especially her cousin, Bailey. I was concerned about keeping Bonnie socialized with other dogs since she was part pitbull, but she is still just the sweetest thing:-) She goes to doggie daycare and has a playdate weekly at Animal Outfitters. She gets along with all dogs and particularly likes small dogs. Her goal in life seems to be catching a bunny; she really, really wants one!

Saturdays with Bailey

Every Saturday, my cousin Bailey comes over to play with me. We used to be on two different foods and Bailey always preferred mine to hers. When she gets here on a Saturday, she always runs to my food bowl and chows down like she hasn't been fed in weeks. Well, we've been on the same food for three weeks now, so when she comes over, she gets upset when she goes to the bowl to find the same food she already gets, BOL! To make matters worse, today when Mommy put down the food in preparation for Bailey's arrival, I ate it all- a whole day's worth of food for me!!! I usually eat in the evenings and prefer to eat only once a day, but I guess I just couldn't resist this morning;-)

My Wedding Day

Today is the day I will marry the pup of my dreams. I'm so excited, I hope I don't pass out during the ceremony. I have looked forward to this day for months and it is going to be so magnificent. Sunny Sunshine is the dearest, sweetest, strongest pup a girl can imagine and I cherish him. We will be joined together, for better or worse, forever.

As I go into today, I pray for Sunny's health and happiness. He became ill last night and was rushed to the vet. The vet thinks he ate something that he shouldn't have eaten. I'm keeping my paws crossed that he gets better soon. Please keep Sunny in your prayers.
