 Quick Bio:
Likes: Eating, being pet, being with humans, eating, following his person around, squeak toys, eating, catching balls, keeping toys away from me, and eating.

Pet-Peeves: Dogs that bark, dogs that are a little too assertive, hands that do not pet him, having his toy taken from him, having his person be asleep, and the fact that he NEVER actually catches the squirrels, cats, or ducks.

Favorite Toy: Whatever squeaks. Currently alternates between a stuffed koala, a stuffed puppy, and a soccer-ish ball.

Favorite Food: Whatever anyone else is eating, anything he can find on the sidewalk, chicken, cheese, Natural Balance turkey rolls, Natural Balance Ultra Premium dry food, and -- most revolting to his person -- vienna sausages.

Favorite Walk: Wherever there are lots of trees.

Best Tricks: Knowing that his person is going to move BEFORE she moves; barking on command and otherwise not barking at all.

Arrival Story: I was not intending to get a dog, in fact it was the furthest thing from my mind. But then I happened upon a photo of his hopeful face on a breed rescue website. He was in a shelter 2 hours away and the rescue was urgently seeking a foster or adoptive home for him. I couldn't do that, but I was worried about him and had trouble falling asleep that night thinking that he might be put to sleep. I checked the website the next morning to find out what had happened to him and was relieved to find that a foster family had picked him up. I contacted the rescue about meeting him. Within seconds of meeting me, he was leaning his whole body against mine for pets and letting me hug him. A few weeks later, he moved in with me.

Bio: All I know of his past is that he was wandering around town (with a beagle) wearing no collar when Animal Control picked him up. He was not trained and had no idea how to walk on a leash, so I think he was probably an outside dog. He is not afraid of any people, so I gather he was treated pretty well by them (I hope), but he is uncomfortable around dogs and afraid of many of them. He is not at all aggressive toward them (even when they attack him), but he does not seem to know how to communicate well with them, and generally wants to avoid them.
