Arrival Story:
Laverne was rescued in Alabama. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl and she's also very acrobatic, for a basset! She can jump very high! She also loves to cuddle on the couch.
Bio:
Laverne is a permanent resident of House of Puddles, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sanctuary for senior and special needs basset hounds and basset mixes in Frederick, Maryland. Since 2002 HOP has provided a permanent, loving home for over 40 hounds from basset hound rescue organizations. HOP's seniors range in age from approximately 10 to 18 years. Some of the health issues our hounds have faced include significant physical deformities, spinal injuries, blindness, deafness, cancer, organ failure, diabetes, arthritis, severe skin allergies, and cognitive, temperament and aggression issues. There are never enough homes for old or sick dogs. HOP helps senior and special needs basset hounds and basset mixes who have no place else to go.
