OK, these last few days have been pawtastic. Yesterday we spent the day hiking and swimming again. This time I did not get sore... AND... I got my very own hot dog and lots of cheese curds! BOL Cheese curds are so good! Today I went to the vet for my yearly physical. A year ago I weighed 74 pounds and was over weight. Today 64 pounds and in great shape! So now Mom has to figure out how to maintain my weight! BOL I love going to the vet till they try touching me. BOL I don't like being touched. I am a very shy pup. But all my tests (heartworm and the poop exam), came back fine. I got my shots and went on our way. Oh yeah and Mom asked the vet what they thought about RAW diet and she was not against it. She just suggested we be careful. One of the vet techs feeds raw so mom might call her for pointers. In the mean time, tomorrow we start the switch from canidae to TOTW. I love the taste of that food! Tomorrow, the humans are going swimming without me! :( How dare they! BOL
Oh my dog! Summer is ruff! The humans love it outside, but I am a husky ... over 40 degrees I think it is hot! Anyway, 2 days ago, we went swimming and hiking in the woods. I really did have alot of fun, but I discovered that I only like swimming if it is my idea to go in and I like the muddiest dirty spots.. but I don't like getting my feet dirty. So I have to run real fast to get thru the mud to get to the dirty water. And I only like swimming if my feet still touch bottom. BOL It kinda freaks me out when my belly gets wet. We saw 2 deer kinda close to us while we were walking but mom spoiled the fun... she held on real tight so I couldn't go play with them. I was getting hungry ... I wanted venison! I was so tired on the way home, I slept all the way home in the car. When we got home though, I was stiff and sore. I could barely walk! The Mom thought it was kinda funny at first. By the next morning, she didn't think it was funny at all. I would take 3 steps and lay down cuz I really hurt. Now she was worried. She called the vet as soon as they opened. They think I just over did it A whole day of rest and asprin and I seem to be coming around. It still hurts, but not like yesterday. Mom is hoping this is a good sign. I am hoping I don't see a rabbit before I can chase them. I don't need no silly rabbit laughing at me. Mom says yesterday I walked like a 90 year old... today I have the energy and speed of a 70 year old. I will show them all ... tomorrow I will be dragging them around by the leash again! (I hope! BOL)
Anyway, the moral of the story is ... have fun this summer ... but do it in moderation and if you are husky ... make your humans go out in the winter too ... payback for their summer fun!
