Arrival Story:
My mom and dad went to the Humane Society on a Saturday, to see another puppy that just posted on their website. When they got there, that pup had a tummy ache and was not availible til she was better. As they began to walk away, I caught their eye as I was the only dog sitting pretty as the others were barking, jumping and going nuts. I thought I go for the stay-calm-and-look-cute apporach. It worked!!! They asked to see me and played with them in the meeting area. After 30 seconds, they were in love. They thought I was so well balanced and behaved for being a 6 month old stray. Plus, being a little goof ball didn't hurt either. They quickly did all the paper work to make sure I was all theirs. Sadly, I had to wait til Monday to bring go to my new home, so I could be spayed(whatever that meant). No worries, that gave Mom plenty of time to do some major shopping and had two custome collars made for little me. When Monday came, Mom left work early to pick me and take me to my new "forever home".

Well, Mom kepts on talking about this thing called Christmas. Something about a list and being naughty or nice, and something about a tree...I like trees! But tonight Mom took me to the mall and it was Pet Night with Santa! I got a goody bag and treats. I met some new furry friends. Even my Grandma went with us. Everyone rubbed my head and told me how pretty I was. In return, I gave them kisses. Mom just posted my new picture...check it out!

Mom was in the mood to host a Swimmimg Doggy Playdate with all my cousins. So she went all out! She sent out invitations, made cookies and bought "Frosty Paws" for dessert! All my cousins came with their moms and dads. We were not sure if anyone would swim because we were all first timers.

Codi, being the true labador that she is, was the first one to dive in...then again...and again. So she was the one to get the ball rolling. One by one, we all got in and chilled out on the first step that was only 6 inches deep, but it's a start! Auntie Cani was great to bring us all our very own squeaking ball. Mine fell into the pool and there was only one way to get it! Dad held me by my tummy and I started to paddle. I paddled my little legs to my squeaky ball and then I got it as well as some water in my mouth. But that didn't scare me! I think I like this whole swimming thing.

After a couple of hours of running around and swimming, mom rewarded everyone with home made ice cream sandwiches for the humans and "Frosty Paws" for us pups. They were sooo yummy that after I finished mine, I tried to help Jesse jane with hers, but she did not like that idea.

Ever since that day, everytime dad takes my outside, I jump in for a little cool off. Check out the picture above to see my dad and I in the pool. He is so proud of me!

My first scare for Mom & Dad

OK, OK...I had alot of first this week...My first day of doggy daycare, my first day at the new dog park, and the first scare that I gave Mom & Dad.

Let's start with the positive stuff: Doggy Daycare! With Dad strating his new job soon, Mom & Dad said that I need to get use to staying there. Since my cousins Jesse Jane & Nala go there, we decided to check it out. My "interview" went well and got to met some of my future friends for about 15 minutes. Dad wanted me to come back on that Monday for a half day to test me out. Mom took me on her way to work and dropped me off. Usually I don't like car rides, but as soon as I saw the building I was stoked! I remember this place, I got to ran around and sniff butts and be with other four-legged "people".

As we got out of the car, my tail wagged a million miles per hour. Mom handed me over and watched me as I joined "the pack". I caught her staring at me for awhile through the window. She mention something like "dropping a kid off at kindergarden for the first time". I had a blast! When Dad picked me up, I had a good report for the first day. Then I had to go into that machine called a car. I mostly put up a fight, but I was sooooo tired I was like, "whatever". I don't remember much after that since I fell asleep before my Dad put on his seatbelt.

The new doggy park on Camden Ave. ROCKS!!! I get to met so many dogs all the time! I go to the big dog side and have no problem keeping up with dogs 3xs my size! I'm a tough little cookie! My best trademark move is taking dogs for walks. One of the dogs still had their leash on so I pick up the end and started leading him around the park. For some reason, all the humans started laughing and said they were going to tell THEIR friends about me! What a hoot!

Now for the scare...I had to keep Mom & Dad on their toes! Mom was eating her dinner of Kentucky Fried Chicken. So far, I never had human food, but it smelled sooooo yummy! So I figured that it must taste good too. I faked Mom out by pretending that I was asleep. She got up to go to the bedroom and there was my opportunity! I used my Ninja-like skills to get near her plate. Usually I know better than to go near her food, but I couldn't help it! And before I knew it, I ate a whole chicken breast AND a leg...BONES AND ALL!!! I snapped out of my daze when Mom scream, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" What was wrong? Mom started to open my mouth, stick her fingers all around and....nothing. Mom ran around the house and called our emergency vet clinic. They said to keep me clam and make sure I poop. There went Mom's plans for the night. So far, my tummy makes funny noises once in awhile, But I think it's going to be a loooong night for all of us. I'll let you all know the outcome (no pun intended)
