Arrival Story: We went to the selter to find a small dog friend for Blizzard. Out of 3 shelters and a pet shop there were tons of small dogs which weren't small enough. So, we drove about 30mins away and found Max, sitting quietly in his cage. We fell inlove with him especially when I read on his papers; 'Can sit and say I love you' and i got him to say it. After that we took him outside, adopted the 5 year old mutt, took him home with a name change from Puddles to Max. Since then, he's befriended everyone, knows to keep away from the cats, and loves our other dog Blizzard.

I've Been On Dogster Since:
So while Cara and her parents and Cara's friend Amy were on vacatiopn, Harry and Erin took care of the house and evertying. Well, the day before they got home, Harry and Erin had me and Blizz outside while they were swimming. It was around 2 in the morning and I chased something into the cornner of the yard. Next thing I know, I had a gross smell all over me and my face and in my mouth! I rubbed my face on the ground and Blizz rolled around and Erin knew what happened. Afterwards, they bathed us with tomato juice which they discovered doesn't work on dogs but it did taste good as I drank it. They eventually figured out how to get the smell off, though they couldn't put the stuff on my face so my face does still smell skunkish but not to badly! To think this all happened yesturday, 8/7/07.
I was sitting in my cage, still sad about being left by my family. Tons of dogs were barking and jumping and I had been placed next to two small aussie pups. I knew at that moment nobody would take me home. The guy who took care of me while I was at the pound told me earlier that day that I would find a home today, but I didn't believe him.
I spotted Cara and her parents coming, not satisfied with the dogs in the other room. Cara looked at me as did her parents. They said something about me not being a small dog but they read over my papers anyway. I stayed quiet at this point, thinking maybe if I was quiet they'd take me home. Cara looked from my papers to me, telling her mom something about them. They had read that I could cay 'I love you'! She asked me to say it and I did, which got me into a barking frenzy of repeating myself over and over.
That's when they fell inlove with me. They took me outside then we went back in and they filled out the papers while I whinned excitedly since I'm part collie and collies love to talk. The guy who was my caretaker said goodbye to me and we left.
In the car I lied on Cara and whined, while her mom called Keith, telling him about me. They decided to change my name from Puddles (which I'm lad they changed it) and they listed off a few names. Cara's mom said Max and I looked at her so they named me Max after the Grinch's dog. Cara says my full name's Maximus like the gladiator. I like it.
They took me to the house and into the backyard so I could meet Blizzard. She was scared at first but soon became to love me. We went to grandma's house after that. She doesn't like me because I'm big. I don't understand why though. I'm a good dog.
After grandma's we came home and Cara's mom called Erin asking if she wanted to go to the petstore with us. She said yes and came out, the second she saw me in the car she started crying because she had a collie named Petri and I remind her of him. I was supposidly bad at the petstore... I only wanted to see the people and other dogs.
Well, ever since that day I've been a perminate part of the family and scared of the cats. I love the long walks I get taken on with Blizzard and the occasional trip to the dog park to make some new friends. I also love Erin's parents' dog, Jasmine. She's a pit bull/ german shepherd mix. She came to the dog park with us on Blizzard's birthday and I've gone over her house to play before. Yep, my care taker was right. I did find a very good home that day.
Ugh, I sure do hate those stupid Bikes. I was taken on a walk and I tackled some guy on a bike into a fence. After that I got yelled at. I don't understand why I was yelled at. It's not like I hurt the man. I just hate bikes.
