Oh my goodness, it happened again!! One of my photos was chosen to be placed on the Dogster homepage, on the left area where "news" stories scroll by. There is a picture of me sleeping between two of my littermates when I was just a wee pup. The article associated with the picture is titled, "1 litter, multiple fathers?"

Thanks for making me famous again Dogster!

YAY!!! It's a snow day! We have 10 inches of snow on the ground right now, and we are supposed to get up to another 5 inches! It is still snowing right now. Mom's grad school classes are canceled today, so she gets to stay home with us. She said that she will take us out later to play in the snow.

I LOVE SNOW!

My Christmas!

Kinnick and I had a wonderful Christmas! All of Mom and Dad's family got us toys! We got eight toys all together I think. One of them is a tire with a rope attached, another is a tug of war toy, a rope with a Santa, a stretchy elastic rope attached to a tennis ball, and some other cool stuff too!

Mom went to Petco the day after Christmas and bought us jingle collars for next year's Christmas. They were on sale for $3 each! I have a red one and Kinnick has blue. She also got us new tags for our collars, and they have the Iowa Hawkeye symbol on them!

We are very spoiled pups and we are having a great time in Iowa. Mom said the weather has been horrible. She says that there has been snow, ice, rain, sleet, fog, and very strong winds. But we don't mind, we will play outside in any of it! Dad's parents have three labs, and we just love running around the farm and playing with them. (Except the oldest Maddie, she gets kind of mad at Kinnick and growls a little, but so far we just ignore her).

Hope you all had as great of a Christmas as we did!

SNOW!

Well, we made it to Iowa late Monday night! Kinnick and I did just fine in the car...well except when Kinnick threw up at a gas station in Illinois...oops! Other than that we traveled great. We both just layed down in the back of the Trailblazer and looked out the window. Once we got to Iowa, we saw a big surprise - SNOW! Lots and lots of snow! There is about a foot of snow on the ground here, and it snowed a couple more inches today! I love playing in the snow!

It was a little hard for Kinnick and I to learn how to walk in the snow, because we kept sinking down into it when we would try to run. Now we are experts, and we even climbed a giant hill of snow that was made when the driveway was cleared. I can't wait to see what Santa Paws will bring us for Christmas!

Happy Howlidays to all our pals!

Vacation?

Mom keeps saying that in one week we are leaving for this magical place called Iowa. That's where I was born and lived until I was three months old. We have been there to visit before, because Mom and Dad's families live there. I remember that I really like it in Iowa because there is a lot of room to run and play. There aren't too many houses, cars, roads, or other people. Mom lets us off our leashes and we can run forever! There are bunnies to chase, cats to herd, and lots of great smells! Before we get to the magical place of Iowa, we have to get in the car and ride for a really long time! I can't wait!

It's the first real snow of the winter here! We had a flurry or two a few weeks ago, but this is actual snow!! There is enough to cover the sidewalks and cover the leaves and grass!! And it is still snowing outside. Mom is excited and so am I. There are lots of big fat pretty snowflakes coming down from the sky. Earlier this morning Mom let me play in the snow. I love to stick my nose down in it and sniff it up. Then it melts in my nose and it feels funny so I snort! Here's me in the snow:

sniff sniff sniffffff snortttttt sniff sniffy sniff snorrrrrrttttt BOL

My training

Well, if you've read my doggy brother Kinnick's diary, you know that we have been going to private training lessons. I think he was the one that needed the most training, I was already pretty good off my leash. But Mom said it was bad that I jumped on people and got super excited to see them when I was walking on a leash. I can't help it, I love people! She said that she is very proud of me, I have learned not to jump on people within the last two months! I still get very excited, but instead I do this funny thing where I lay down at their feet, scoot around, show them my belly and whine a bit. The trainer said I will probably outgrow it, but Mom is just happy I am not jumping!

I have also gone on walks at the park, where I used to go crazy because there were so many people. Now we can meet people on the sidewalk and I don't start "freaking out." Instead I walk nicely between Mom and Kinnick. Everyone who knows us is very impressed with what nicely behaved gentlemen we have become. I have also gotten better at my off leash "come." Don't tell, but sometimes if it is really cold outside, Mom will just open the door and let me go out into the grass to pee without putting me on a leash. I always come right back inside after I am done. The other day, I decided to be funny and make Mom come outside though. I usually only poo twice a day, so when Mom just let me outside in the afternoon without a leash, I knew that if I pooed, she would have to come out to pick it up with those silly plastic baggies. So I squatted and pooed just a tiny little bit. It was worth it though! Mom rolled her eyes and said, "Herky!" in a really funny voice. And I laughed a little as I sat in the window and watched her pick up my poo in the freezing cold rain....haha

Mom and Dad went to PetSmart last night to get supplies for their fishies. Guess what Mom found? Halloween costumes on clearance!! This means that Kinnick and I will actually have to wear something next year for Halloween...we were soooo happy to get out of it this year! But Mom was excited to get us costumes for $3 each, and she said she couldn't pass it up. When she got home, we had to try them on. I tried my best to look horribly depressed and upset by the whole experience so she would return the costumes, but with no luck. She says they are perfect and we will have to wear them next year. She also said we will have to take lots of pictures! It sounds like torture to me... She won't let me tell you what the costumes are because she says it is a surprise. So you will just have to wait until next October to see us looking super goofy...in the mean time, I am grateful that they don't make too many funny clothes for dogs our size!

I went hiking for Mom's birthday!

Today was my Mom's birthday, and she had all day off! Since Dad had to work, she was all by herself until he got off work. She decided to take us pups hiking! Unfortunately, Kinnick landed on his shoulder funny yesterday when he was playing with our doggy pal named Kip. So he needs to take it easy for awhile. But I got to go hiking with Mom all by myself!

It was the perfect time to test my recall off leash. Mom said that I did wonderful, and she was very proud of me! She even took some pictures of me with all the leaves on the ground. It was a beautiful birthday hike!
