Arrival Story:
Hello! My name is Edan. I love my owner. She had always been an only child with ASD and a mother with extreme pet allergies. She was always very lonely and always wanted a little pet. She had tried turtles, fish, gerbils...but they were never the perfect friend for her. She always wanted a dog, but her mother wouldn't permit one. She always said, "The only way you will have a dog is when you are grown and have a house of your own." She waited very patiently for a long time. Finally, college came and she left her mother went off to UVA. She lived in a dorm the first year but because of her social difficulties, her mother decided to get her her own apartment. She was so excited--now she could finally have the dog she always wanted! She thought long and hard about what she wanted. Something small for a small apartment, that did not shed for when her mother visited her. Finally, something that would loyally love her no matter what. Looking through her local bookstore one day, she picked up a book on Yorkshire Terriers. She thought they were beautiful on the cover and fell in love with them at first sight. She never met anyone with a Yorkie before. After reading the book completey through, she was absolutely positive she wanted that dog. She searched very hard and carefully for the perfect source for her pet. Finally, she came across my breeder 4 hours away. She called her and then picked me up the very next day! We loved each other as soon as we met. She was shy like me and was very gentle. I am soo glad she found me--we have sooo much fun together! I never bite or bark and I rarely cry (only when I want to be held--I like cuddles!!). Also, I help her a lot with her social skills because now she has a reason to go outside and we meet new people all the time (because I am so cute)! I help her regulate her emotions and I make her feel better! We are best friends--I m so happy we met each other!

Hello everybody!!
We're so sorry we haven't updated in sooo long!! We've been so busy with school and getting everything straight around our apartment!! But I am still doing very well!! I am getting better and better with new people and my mommy is, too. We still prefer staying at our cozy home on weekends and cuddling up together with a good movie, but we're slowly going out more. I have gotten so many cool new clothes! I am definitely the most fashionable dude on the block, but I try not to let it go to my head too much :) Shopping is my new favorite hobby. Especially since at the clothes store, there is the cutest, sweetest girl there that I am in love with. Normally, I am not very good with girls. They are usually so aggresive and bark at me and scare me ;( But not this girl. She is absolutely perfect and we are best friends. She is a little older (a year and a half), but that's okay, she still thinks I'm cool.
I went to the vet yesterday and she said I was 5 lbs now. Some people look at me and say, wow he is so big for a yorkie! And then other people say, jeez, he is such a small dog! But I say, I'm not too big or too small, I'm just perfect, and my mommy loves me just the way I am! :) I am also very intelligent and obedient--I know how to put away all my toys back in the toybox after I am finished playing with them. I used to only do it for yummies but now I do it automatically because I know it helps out my mommy and I love helping her because she always does so much for me.
Well, it is late and we must go now. We just finished watching 3 movies! Saturday is movie day. We just finished watching Borat. My mommy didn't like it at all, but I thought it was funny. Before that we saw Little Miss Sunshine and Memento. My mom loved both of those. I thought they were boring. I did think the little girl in Little Miss Sunshine was cute and looked very sweet, but I wanted her to win that pageant because she deserved it. But I am glad it was just a movie. Now I must go to bed even though I wish I could play. :( But tomorrow I will get to play ALL day while my mommy does her homework.

Today was so much fun! My owner's mother came and I was so excited because usually it is just the two of us!! She came and played with me and ave me kisses and brought me some brand new clothes!! We woke up very early the next day and the three of us went on a walk to the Starbucks down the street. Boy, was it a long walk! I am getting so much better at walking! I used to be frightened to death of walks! To leave me cozy bed and blankie for loud traffic and scary people was not my cup of tea. Now I love it! I love getting fresh air and excercise. Everyone at Starbucks was making such a big fuss over me. I was scared at first, but my mommy was holding me so it was okay. I ate the cottage cheese and apples my mom brought and she had an orange cake. I wanted some, but she wouldn't let me have any. But it was okay because I got a treat when I came home for being so good! I cannot wait until my mom puts on my new clothes. I will put up some pictures later of me. Goodbye for now!
