Thanks for the well-wishes from my Dogster friends! I am feeling great now! In fact, Mommy has had trouble keeping me still!
I'm done with my medicines, and hopefully that won't happen again. It did happen a few years ago, but I'll try to be more careful and not jump too much!
Just wanted to post that I'm back to my normal playful, pain-free, zoomie-running, supper-begging, super-lovable self!

Well, I'm not having a good day. When I woke up this morning, I didn't want to stretch like I usually do and didn't even flap my ears (all part of my "I've just gotten up" routine). Mommy noticed I was just standing there with my head bowed and didn't respond to her when she called my name. I even cried a little. You know what that means....a trip to the vet. He took some x-rays, and I have a little problem with a disc in my back. Apparantly that's not uncommon for us wiener dogs, since we have these fabulously loooonnng backs! I've had this happen before, and it wasn't much fun two years ago, either. I had to get a shot, and I have medicine to take, which I don't mind, because I get my pills in a piece of cheese. Actually, this whole deal's not too bad, because I'm not allowed to run or jump for three weeks, so in order to ensure that I obey, Mommy spent all day today reading on the couch or watching tv with me in order to keep me still. She'll do that tomorrow, too, I heard her say, just to be sure that I don't do too much for the first few days. I even get the royal potty treatment. She carries me outside and puts me on the grass, then after I potty, she carries me back in. That's fine with me today, because it's raining, and I hate going potty in wet grass! Of course, as soon as the sun comes out, we'll have to have a talk about me not being able to run.
The other bad part of all this is that I have to go back two more days for shots, and for some reason the shots make me stink! Mommy says I smell like garlic, whatever that it. She says it's making her a little queasy, having me right next to her all day smelling so strong, but oh, well, I can't help it!
Keep me in your thoughts that I'll get better soon!

Mommy and Daddy have been working in the garden a lot, and they won't always let me play! I don't see why not, I'm a big help. I walk the perimeter of the plot, then carefully choose places to do my business so as to discourage any other critters from trying to eat my yummy veggies! So far the plants are small, which may be why they keep me out for now. I don't see what the big deal is, if it's short enough to pass under my belly as I walk, then I see no reason not to walk right over it! Mommy has to stop me from plowing right through the peas! Daddy promises that when the garden is a little bigger, then I can come out to play in it because I won't run over all the plants. I love to walk between the rows when the corn gets big. I imagine I'm a fierce jungle predator out on patrol. What fun! You just wait until I see that groundhog (or "whistle-pig", as Daddy likes to call him) hanging around. I'll give him a barking he won't soon forget!
