Arrival Story:
Hi! I'm Tina! My Mommy and Daddy rescued me through Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue. I bonded with my mommy right away, and like to be right by her side. I love my daddy, especially when he has cheese, but I prefer mommy. I love warm soft things, and my favorite time is when the towels come out of the dryer. I prance right beside mommy all the way to the couch, where she dumps the fresh warm laundry, and I jump right into the middle and wiggle waggle all through the pile. I like to lie in the sun, and this summer, my belly turned purple from sunbathing in front of the living room window!

7/30/11-Lots of changes here!

Lots has happened since my last diary entry! Mommy is ALWAYS on the computer, so I don't get a chance to keep everyone updated, but here goes. My human sister and the baby live with us right now, and it's kind of fun! The baby is 20 months old now, and she's learning to be gentle with me, and likes to "give me love". It's not so bad. She is eating in a high chair now, which is great, because she tends to drop things, so I score food a lot! She thinks it's fun to feed me, too, which Mommy tries to get her not to do, but hey, who can blame her! Even a baby can tell I'm too cute for words! She's here every other week, so I get a break, but I sort of miss her when she's not here. So lots of changes in our house, but I can adjust! Who says you can't teach an old dog.....

10/17/10-The baby is crawling!

My human half-sister came to visit this weekend with her little one. The baby is crawling! And she loves me! Boy is she fast! I spent a lot of the weekend keeping an eye on her. When she cries, I'm not sure what to do, but I'm sure if I just lick her all over I can fix whatever's wrong. Mommy just laughs when I try to baby the baby. She's not so bad, and Mommy promises that as she gets older, they'll teach her how to play gently with me. Right now she tries to pat me but sometimes ends up hitting me in the nose! For now, I'll just bump her a little with my nose when she comes on too fast and try to be patient with her. Guess she's not so bad. Mommy is loving being a Nana, so I guess I can enjoy being an Auntie Doggie. Sometimes when I wander through, the baby just squeals and points at me. Yesterday I did zoomies through the house and she just laughed and laughed!

09/02/10-Tina and the snake!

I like living in South Carolina, although it can be a bit over-exciting at times. We live in the country a bit, which means there are always cool things outside to sniff at. We had a little too much excitement a month or so ago. Daddy was walking past the stairs that lead down to the downstairs room and as he glanced over the rail he noticed something long and black stretched across the stairs. It was a 3 ft. long snake! Mommy grabbed me up before I could go after it and watched it while Daddy went to get something to take care of it. He came back with a machete and a hoe. After going down the stairs and chasing it down to a corner, he managed to pin it down and whack it with the machete. Ick! But no more snake! They had seen snake poop in the house a few weeks before, so we knew it was in there somewhere, just had to find it! Daddy thinks he found the place downstairs where it came in, and he's sealed it off. No more snakes in the house! One day they came home and I was particularly upset and was squawling and yelping, and that's when they saw the poop. Daddy thinks I saw the snake and was scared. Of course I was! This is my house! At least I could stay on the couch and stay away from it! Oh, it can be exciting to live in the country!
